  • I've had a similar experience with M2YD (part of Phones4U). I called to say I wanted to return the phone. The pre-paid envelope to send the phone back arrived a week after my cancellation request, I called at least 3 times concerned that the phone wouldn't be returned in time. I even asked for the returns address and said I would send it special delivery but the person I was talking to insisted that wasn't possible. Just another sneaky way of slowing the returns process?? The envelope was pre-paid but first class standard mail. I paid the extra to send it special delivery.

Good luck I hope you get everything sorted out.

  • i recently got a new contract from phones4u, and got told that my bill would never go higher than the 35£ a month. when i got my first bill it was 251£ i thought forget that i aint paying it went to t-mobile to try and sort it out they said it has nothing to do with them. i have quite a few problems with t-mobile as they also told me i would get 130£ cash back AND free mobile insurance i thought great until i went to my bank and the insurance company had tried to take 10£ out of my account so it isnt free at all. im really not happy with them. i got two contracts one for my self and one for a mate, one of the main reasons i got it was because it was never goin to go over 35£ a month, n i thought oh well if he dont give me the money i can jus pay it my self and get the sim card myself. but now the bills that much he wont pay me i feel like ive been missold a product its been passed to a debt recovery agency n their threatening legal action the bil is now 700+£ and cant afford it as i was self employed but it didnt work out please help me. this has caused loads of problems as i think my credit rating has been knocked because my bank reduced my credit limit on my card. i had no problems with my other phone on orange except it got stolen n they want 20£ for a new sim card n the insurance i was told would be free wasnt free. what do you think i should do money savers.
  • can i get alerts sent to my email to inform me of new posts on my thread if so how thanks again

go back to the store you bought it from and sort it out with them. there is no information about how and who and why the bill was run up here to advise you on anything.
:p It is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

im going ot be a bit harsh and say you havent really read/listened to what you are told.
eg you often get 'free' insurance for the 1st few months

you need ot look at exactly what you have signed up for

    Hi,

i have an 18month contract with vodafone. this contract was done through phones4u.

before i signed the contract i got told that i would be able to cancel the contract at the 12 month point and get another one.

i am now just over the 12 month point and was thinking about getting a new phone and contract.

i am looking at getting the iPhone from O2 but i am now thinking that there could be a problem. will i have to get a contract through phones4u to be able to cancel my current contract.

or will O2 pay off my vodafone contract if i buy an iPhone.

i am asking this here to see if anyone has had the same happen to them before i go into the store tomorrow.

    any help is really appreciated

    Andy

After reading through some of the Phones4u posts, it seems to me like P4U used to be a really good service for chequebacks/cashbacks and delivered on time. However it seems like a lot of the posts from this year point to it declining, really bad customer service, not receiving claim forms even when sent with special delivery, claiming wrong bill is sent and basically any excuse to send cashback.

I'm just really confused. I wanted to take out the 8 month free contract for the K810i-clearance phone for Orange Dolphin £35/mth on 12-month contract.

    http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_contract_details.asp?ItemKey=173723&MPItemKey=184483

I'm not too bothered about the phone as it was bulkier than I thought when I saw it in store. I actually wanted the k770i but there don't seem like any cheap deals around. So Quidco is £50 and on ebay the phone is around £100. After cashback, the phone is £160 for the year so only £10 would remain for the contract in this case.

I had to go through the miserable experience of not getting 1/2 of my cashback owed from CoolNewMobile who has recently gone into administration. That was my first cashback trial and it's getting a bit skeptical now.

To people awaiting cashback from Phones4u (online) now, are you still receiving your cashback on time hassle-free?

Would appreciate any advice here, can't make up my mind! Thanks...
