I don't mean to make light of phobias which I know can be very debilitating but I have to say, this thread is making me laugh!
I know that almost all phobias can be traced back to a childhood incident, which most sufferers can barely remember but I do wonder what triggered off the "exploding tomato" phobia?
And the cheese grater-phobic? What on earth happened to you?
There are definitely some interesting tales to be told here!:D:D
"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
Mine is water pipes, cisterns, water tanks and that sort of thing. If I need anything out of the cupboard under the sink, I have to get my OH to get it incase my arm touches that weird U bend pipe thing and I could never take the lid of the cistern in the toilet or anything like that. I have gone all goose pimpley just typing that! xxPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

I have a couple of phobias, one is suspension bridges, they make my legs go funny if I see one, Im not sure I could ever go over one.
I hate masks with a passion and not just scary ones, there was one on crimewatch once I had nightmares for ages!
My other phobia is slightly funnier, its Bertie Bassett. He freaks me out, those adverts from when I was a child...
one too many and you might turn bertie ....
I used to believe that and was terrified to eat them (I still am now)0 -
Carousels!!!
They make me freak out to the point were I start panicking if I can hear one, its not the sight of them just the noise.

I'm scared of the talking sloths from the old specsavers advert, and probably the real ones too (but I've never seen them in real life!!). I can't explain why, but they just really freak me out. Even when I heard the advert on the radio I had to turn it off!!! :rotfl: I'm glad it's not on anymore. My OH being the supportive man he is is very good at doing impressions of them though, just to wind me up :cool:0

I am terrified of reservoirs, especially the square ones, they really freak me out. When I was little, I used to think they had a giant plug hole at the bottom and I've been frightened of them ever since!0
