I have a few some stranger than others.

Firstly heights, so bad i can't go to the top of a step ladder even! We went on this ride a bit like a smaller version of the London eye and i closed my eyes, sweated and shook the whole way round. Even my oh who isn't the most sympathetic of people could see i was in a bad way.

secondly i have a phobia of driving to a particular train station. if i haveto go there i panic like mad and worry myself stupid until it's done. again I'll be sweating and shaking.

the next one is similar. i don't like joining the motorway unless i can keep in the same lane but i do it and i only get a bit panicky. but there's one particular slip road that freaks me right out I'll try to get out of driving there unless i really have to. i think of ways to avoid it and it spoils my whole day knowing i have to face it on the way home. Once I'm pastit the relief is immense.

When i was a child i was scared of the toilet flushing, I'm ok with that one now.

The last one is pilegm, even thinking about it makes me feel sick. if anyone spits it out or they have snot running anywhere it makes me physically sick.

  • Swings and pendulum type things FREAK me our. I can cope with clock pendulums, they're in a 'fixed' rhythm and swing at a uniform height - but anything else *shudder*

I hate taking my little ones to the park because they love the swings, and I can just about manage if it's one at a time, being pushed at a steady rhythm and I'm in control but when they both want to go on, and they're going at different speeds I want to cry and run away.

They've just put in one of those big round ones that's just attached at the top and can swing in all directions completely randomly.... and thinking about it now is making me panic!

I used to have to bluetak the bathroom light cord to the wall so it didn't swing, but I've managed to train myself to ignore it now...

Daddy long legs. I've got better at quietly but quickly leaving the room if one gets in rather than screaming :o Discovered the only way to dispose of the indestructable little b*****s is by vacuum. I still shudder at the memory of walking across a field (in a skirt) and a whole cloud of them flew up from the ground

Stairs and steep hills. Earliest memory is of falling down both flights of stairs at home so not surprising really!

Not a phobia but dragonflies creep me out - they look too prehistoric, like they shouldn't be in this time period.

oh me too and now a daring dame with the vacuum too, there is a field near me that was carpeted with them few years back eeekkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!

quite reassuring reading this, I hyperventilate at motorway junctions, have been stuck up a ladder for 2 hrs through fear till my irritation at a ringing phone got me down after ringing on an off for a dozen times or more .............so glad I am not alone. Mine you I think if a daddy long legs was around I would have flown down screaming and ignored the phone,

Old fashioned radar dishes really gave me the creeps when I was a kid - anything bigger than a sky dish really. I now have to drive by Menwith Hill listening station quite often and get a bit of a shudder looking at the 'golf ball' structures. However I quite like electricity pylons and think wind turbines are rather beautiful!
Fish - live fish in tanks, in the sea, anywhere really. My job takes me into a lot of homes and I have to do a reccy for a fish tank and sit with my back to it, all the time convinced that the fish are watching me.
Oh and the Cyberman from Dr Who - 40+ years of absolute terror!
OH is scared of spiders - best fun is taking the stalk out of a tomato and throwing it at him - never fails to get him screaming.

Cheese - think its because of my allergy. I panic when I eat out that whatever I've ordered is going to have cheese in it and if OH leaves his cheese on my shelf in the fridge I yell at him until he moves it. :o

Also - this. I have been scared of it since I was a small child when I used to run
out of the room screaming when it came on TV....

I don't think I have any really strange phobias. Balloons maybe, one popped in my face once and that was it. I'm terrified of being in the same room as a balloon as I'm afraid of it popping. I also hate the feel and noise of them too. I'm ok with helium balloons though I can just about manage those.

Normal phobias include snakes. I can't stand snakes, I tried to get over my phobia once by holding a boa once but I just couldn't do it. Petrified of snakes. I also hates clowns, they freak me out.

    I've a few but I'm told they're normal enough.
    Spiders
    needles (despite having tattoos lol)
lifts (afraid of plunging to my death or being squished in the doors)
    crowds of people
loud noise (totally freaks me out)
    clowns
    carpe diem

Vomit. Well, other people being sick. I can cope if it's me.
    Horses.
Germs (the plate/cup/cutlery sharing thing mentioned before).
Speaking on the phone - will do absolutely anything possible to avoid it - even walking over a mile to make an appointment rather than ring up and do it.
    Needles.
China dolls. My granparents used to give us them for birthdays/christmas as kids - they terrified me.
