I have irrational fears of the following...
Polystyrene - the texture and sound, it makes my teeth hurt.
Blu Tac - makes me feel sick as when I was at school, a teacher gave me a large ball of it to stick stuff up, but it had hairs and tinsel and fluff stuck in it, made me feel sick.
Wall plugs, to stick shelves up with! They disgust me for some reason and it's even worse when they have been pulled out of the wall and are covered with plaster.
Childbirth, the thought of it makes me feel sick, and placentas. Yuk.0 -
big stones, it comes from a children's series when I was a kid, can't remember what it was called, all I can remember is there were big stones, like at stonehenge, can't even remember what the stones were there for, but when I see big stones, and to be honest they don;t have to be that big, it sets off something inside me and I freak !busiscoming2 wrote: »I remember that series, didn't they move closer to the house at night? It was really good but I can understand why it scared you.
Late to the thread, sorry.- wasn't it Marianne Dreams? Really scared me too!

Butterflies and moths. Can't bear to even look at a picture of the hideous things and if one comes on the TV I have to look away. I nearly got run over as a kid trying to get away from one:o0

Jewellery in all forms, and rings in particular. Make me wear one and I'll scream the place down. Make me touch one and I'll throw up. Approach me wearing one and I'll back away quickly.0

Flittery fluttery things like butterflies.
Banana skins (where someone's eaten the banana and left the skin *there* until they put it in the bin. Makes me want to hurl)
Birds, pigeons especially the way they walk around in town and then remember they can fly and suddenly fly up right where I'm walking. Happened today and these children were highly amused by my screech!
Used to be scared of escalators and high bridges but after having counselling for self-confidence, am no longer scared of them
Am working on the water phobia. If I see a film and someone's under water, I hold my breath and then shoot up so I'm above "the water level" then I can breathe again. My daughter finds that hysterical.
If we were meant to swim we would have fins!:hello:

Feet, cannot stand them, cannot look at them, could not bring myself to. Baby feet I can about tolerate, but anything bigger and I am baulking. One night a few months ago my OH rolled over in the middle of the night, and happened to brush his foot against my leg, I took a panic attack!
What a weirdo.
My OH is scared of outty bellybuttons  :rotfl:The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

The sound of people brushing their teeth! I'm fine with my own, infact i'm a little obsessed with dental hygine. Other people brushing their teeth makes me gag, i cannot stand the noise.
My husband really can't stand cotton wool, even hates to look at it.
I also hate that, i dont even like doing my own teeth. I do do them but it makes me feel sick.
When pregnant it is 100 times worse and is the main cause of my morning sickness lol!
Anything with bristles make me feel yuk yuk yuk. If i touch thrm i have to wipe my hands haha!
Also my husband hates cotton wool0 -
I really really really don't like the feel of cotton wool! it makes my teeth hurt for some weird reason and I have to throw it off me if I ever touch it - my little one used to get conjuctivitis and I hated cleaning his eyes with the wool, and when was a newborn I dreaded the nappy changes knowing I'd have to touch the cotton wool - ugggh just thinking about it makes me shudder!0
