Empty swimming pools.
And I once had a client who wanted to sue a holiday company because the pool at the hotel was empty. Not a huge problem, I thought, until the unsolicited A4-sized photos were produced, at which point I had to excuse myself from the meeting and go and freak out in the corridor. I then had to ask my secretary to go into the room and remove the photos before I could return.
*Odd looks all round*0 -
Shark gills. I really, really hate these. It makes me feel very uncomfortable, whether it be pictures or in real life, it makes me feel extremely uncomfortable and I try not to look if i can help it.0

Tomatoes - The smell, the taste, the sound when a knife goes in them, the pips, the mankiness. UGH! I can't watch people cut them, I can't touch them. I have to make sure all my food is away from them or I won't eat or, and god forbid a sandwich near them/touching them/ with them in, so I run and vomit. As does the smell of them cooking.
Clowns/those creepy china dolls - they both evoke the run away urge, they freak me out and haunt my dreams/nightmares. I even scream when they're on TV and I won't read IT if I'm on my own cos there's no-one to save me from the clown.
Crowded spaces - panic attack central
Empty light bulb holders - i think someone will come down and get me.
The head changy things from Labyrinth - they make me scream like a big girl!
Worzel Gummidge - had nightmares he would come up out of the toilet and get me as a child. He still makes me shudder.
Odd numbers - I can't stand them! Everything hs to be even, on the plate, on the radio (volume/bass/treble all at even numbers) as do the numbers of songs..I count sweets into colours and then into groups and eat the odd ones..I do it to everything, and counting calms me.
(Big ol' freak over here)

A family member is another who has a very real phobia of phones, didn't know there was a problem until I went to hand them the phone (several years back I have to add) and they were backing out of the room, shaking and crying!!0

I've got quite a few common phobias, spiders, toads, moths and clowns, I really hate that creepy clown type mask from the Saw films. But my weirdest one is sprouting potatoes.:eek:0
-
Sensible phobias - rats and spiders.
Other phobias - any sort of drain/grid/grate at the bottom of a swimming pool. And (can barely type the words!) - chewing gum.
Bleurgh.
I have a real phobia of sharks, and for this reason I won't go near the drains or grates in pools in case a shark comes up it. My Aunt lives in Kent and has a swimming pool in her back garden and I still wouldn't go near the drains in case a shark appeared. I won't put my feet near the plug in the bath, and never close my eyes in the shower in case a shark appears. Went to Oz one year to visit an Uncle and would only go into the sea up to my ankles in case a shark was there...Totally irrational..Also open-tread stairs or stairs without hand rails, cannot walk up/down them.
I am so scared of open tread stairs. I imagine that I am going to fall through the gap......now I weigh about 19 stone, there is no way on God's green earth am I going to even get a leg through that gap never mind my entire body.....lol....
Achilles Tendons- too prominent, this comes from a film where I saw someone get theirs slashed. I think about it everytime I see one.
My Achilles Tendon makes me feel sick even thinking about it...I watched a few films (Saw being one of them) where someone got theirs slashed and have nightmares about it. Sometimes if I have overstretched I hear something snap in my ankle and feel physically ill.
My hubby has a fear of his and other peoples wind pipes. You know where someone has had their voice box removed and a robotic one inserted. We have a neighbour who had mouth cancer and had to have one of these inserted and my hubby will cross the road to avoid speaking to him. Hubby has always said that if he is in an accident where they have to cut through his windpipe that I have to let him die instead...;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -

My own feet are fine. I happily go barefoot, have pedicures etc. It's just other people's feet that are all wrong.
Agreed I'm just the same. I hate feet apart from my own, oh and I hate seeing people eat or eating in front of people I don't know well. And I don't like even my DH drinking out of my cup or eating off my plate.£365 in 365 days - £0/£365£2012 in 2012 - £0.00/£201210.10 to 8.8 - 0lbs lost - 30lbs to go0 -
Im terrified to my very core of spiders and lifts. To be honest I'm not sure if the lift thing is because it is a lift or an enclosed space because the smaller it is the worse I am but I am worse in lifts than any other enclosed space. I panic when I can't get out of somewhere, specially if it is a small space. I'm feeling panicky just thinking about it. If anyone has ever been in the tiny lifts at manchester airport you will know what I mean, theyre so small and last time the lights were off in there and I had a full blown panic attack because I was in there, luckily mum was in there with me and held my hand n talked to me, I have to imagine i'm on top of a hill and can feel breeze all around me. If i can avoid lifts I will.
Spiders i've been scared of since I was about 5 when I was poorly and hallucinated that they were coming out of the walls at me. Doesnt matter how big or small I will hyperventilate n freak out if i see 1 now, specially if it is on a wall.
I also don't like birds when theyre flying around me, pigeons are horrendous. I don't like toilets until I trust them and I realise that makes me sound completely nutty but I won't flush a strange toilet until I have opened the door and can leg it out of there lol.
I don't like having my blood taken neither and have a phobia of needing to receive blood.0 -
The dark, eggs and spiders....when I was younger I used to be freaked out by loads of little circles together (like mould, or bubbles or octopus tentacles) but thankfully that particulary oddity seems to have subsided slightly!
Oh and the thought of ticks or anything parasitic - my mams dog once had a tick on her and I couldn't physically let her near me until I knew it had gone (she was really poorly as she's tiny and just wanted cuddles all the time, I felt awful) and I also once watched a documentary about sharks and it popped up about parasites they have in their teeth, it made me feel sick every time I thought about it for months after...and I couldn't stop thinking about it. Every now and again something comes up that reminds me of it and it grosses me out for weeks afterwards again.0 -
toes, especially big toes, they're evil, I can cope with mine and the childrens, but I think its mens big toes that really freak me out with the hair on them.
public toilet doors, I cant touch them after I've been a loo and have to wait for someone to open the door before I can leave
I hate clowns and masks
I'm really scared of attics, I wont go in one unless someone has checked it over for me, and really uncomfortable walking under one. The reason for that is because my old flatmate split up with her boyfriend and he broke into the flat through the attic (he got through from the communual part in the hallway, I didnt know that that was possible until that day) and destroyed everything. Since then I've been quite unhappy about attics
uneven things, everything has to be even, it gets me quite stressed if I dont have things in even numbers0
