There's some really weird phobias about.

I cannot abide cardboard - the furry type. I'm ok with the 'coated' cardboard like the outer side of cereal boxes but the furry brown stuff gives me goosebumps and makes me physically sick. My younger brother used to wind me up by ripping furry cardboard to make it worse then chasing me, shiver!

Other people's feet - especially those of a child with their cold clammy toes, keep well away.

Things like old plane hangers, ships, machine factories, electricity pylons and huge barns with metal doors make me panic.

I love swimming in the sea and would gladly hike up a mountain but scenic pictures or paintings of them are a no-no in my house. Looking at them makes my blood run cold, I have no idea why.

Clusters!! You know like honeycomb? Trypophobia is what it's called I think.

I really hate these, I could be physically sick or faint when I see a cluster of holes - uurgh!

Also, frogs but that's because my ex's cousin threw one in my lap many moons ago! I'll eat their legs but I hate to see a whole one;)

I hate wooden lolly sticks .. Its the texture and taste of it in my mouth when im sucking off the last bit of ice lolly or choc ice. YUK!!!

Also I can't stand seeing sweat dripping from armpits or foreheads.
Some days I wake up Grumpy ... Other days I let him lie in.
  • I haven't read the whole thread (yet :)), but I have a phobia about general anaesthetics. Not a big deal most of the time, but when my middle child was born, it became a massive problem. He had medical problems in the womb, and as a result, I developed a medical condition whereby I was carrying too much amniotic fluid. When I went into labour at 35 weeks, I was the size of someone six weeks overdue. Anyway, the cord started to protrude from my nether regions, and if my waters burst, the baby would have suffocated by squashing the cord and cutting off the oxygen supply. I had a massive panic attack as the doctors ran up the corridor, me on a trolley, injecting me as they ran. the only reason that I agreed to a GA was because my baby would have died otherwise.

Even though my son was born safely (and later had to have life saving surgery himself), I still fear GAs to this day. I can just about cope when I have to take him into surgery, but once he is under anaesthetic, I am a heaving, weeping mess on the floor.

Another phobia is people touching the back of my neck . Just the thoughht of it makes my skin crawl. I hate even talking about haircuts, as I know the hairdresser will touch the back of my neck. When it actually happens, I tense up and get goosebumps. I can barely breathe until after the cut is finished. Eeeuuuurrrrgggghhh!!!!

My hubby has a fear of his and other peoples wind pipes. You know where someone has had their voice box removed and a robotic one inserted. We have a neighbour who had mouth cancer and had to have one of these inserted and my hubby will cross the road to avoid speaking to him. Hubby has always said that if he is in an accident where they have to cut through his windpipe that I have to let him die instead...

Glad your hubby doesn't know my little lad then :). He was born with a number of congenital abnormalities of the digestive system, and because of one operation, he made a funny noise whenever he was breathing, from birth until he had further surgery when he was nine months old. His windpipe used to collapse slightly (luckily not completely, although this can happen in some babies - it's called tracheomalacia). Even now, my son sometimes gets the strange noise. It sounds like a really bad chest infection, and I have been told to take him to the doctors, as his breathing was so poor and he obviously (to them) had a very bad chest infection, by complete strangers (especially when he was a baby). I point out that it is a weakness around the scar tissue where he had life saving surgery.... and then people want to see his tracheotomy scar (he didn't have a tracheotomy :)). the scar tissue is internal.
  • I can't bear the bottoms of my feet being touched, the idea of a foot massage sends me into a panic attack!,

Wasps, tried to jump out of a moving car once when one flew in, at the time I would have gladly been run over rather than being stung.

People who wear t-shirts with stain's down the front, makes me want to heave as soon as I see them.

Wigs. I know it's a ridiculous phobia, but I'm absolutely terrified of wigs. I don't even like the word.

I can't stand seeing or hearing other people brushing their teeth either.

Trifle!!! Even just thinking about it makes me want to be sick. I cannot bear to look at it!. Especially nana trifle with fruit in it too, I mean how many textures do you want on one spoon!

Stumps any other disfigurement I am fine but stumps no no no.

Midgets/dwarfs to the extent I will run away screaming.

And clowns. I swear if I saw a midget clown with a stump holding a trifle I would drop down dead on the spot!!!!
