Strange Phobias

Tortoises - I found one in my garden as a young child and it scared me to death (looked like a monster to me)

Now someone has put up a poster for a missing one on the post outside my house :eek:

Baked beans. They are evil little orange balls of vileness, yuk, yuk, yuk.
But I do love bean juice.

I do not have any phobias that I can think of, however there are a few thing that annoy the hell out me.

Shopping
Waiting in queues
Cold callers
Checking my lotto numbers to find that I have not won yet again
Peas
And a relative new user on here name sounds like grub

I can not put a chip in my mouth that has pointed ends. Makes me gag.

I tried cutting the ends of them but nope it doesnt work.

By the time i have sorted through which chips i can eat there arnt many left.

Also people crunching, like biscuits, crisps. I physically shake when i hear the noise.

Weird indeed.

Although I wouldn't class these as actual phobias, I hate/get freaked out by the following:

- Long escalators. I'm fine on short ones but have to stand sideways on long ones.
- Lifts. I have an irrational fear that they're suddenly going to drop. I regularly have nightmares about this
- GPs
- Baby bumps (although I'm fine if they are covered with clothing)

Yes I am fully aware I am a fruitcake!

I'm exactly the same! Will not share food, cutlery, cups etc, even as you say, with my partner. It physcially repluses me.

Oh lifts too! I forgot about that one. I have to stand in the corner and hold on! Will avoid lifts wherever possible.

I hate the food crunchy noises too but wouldn't say it's a phobia with me, I just HATE it! Same with the 'sloppy' eating noises. Yuk!

I have a few....
Touching fresh paper from a ream for the printer, it makes me feel sick and my teeth hurt.

Men in Drag - I physically run away and feel sick.

Being left home alone for more than about 30 minutes and im paranoid an axe murderer is going to get me.

Strangers - my parents really embeded in stranger danger on my brain and now i cant sit next to one!

Sharks. Now I know most people don't like them but this is a riddiculous irrational fear. I am scared of them in the bath, public pools etc. I cant even look at or god forbid touch a picture of one... *shudder*

Sweeping with a broom.

I can;t stand the noise it makes me wanna throw up and there's no way I could ever sweep anything myself.

My dad used to try and make me sweep the patio outside and I would be retching while trying to do it.

Hate the sound and the feeling of sweeping lol. weird
