Strange Phobias
Comments
-
Me and a friend were having a conversation about phobias and apparently mine is really weird so I thought I'd post it on here and see if anyone else has any strange phobias!
Tattoos - I absolutely hate the things. If I see one I want to be sick, and if I see one when I'm eating I stop immediately and feel like being sick. Even the idea of pen on the skin. When I was at school and someone tried to write on your hand or their hand, it physically repulsed me.
A strange one I know!
Funnily enough I hate slag badges too, but I never used to, it's a recent thing :eek:0 -
i think you mean tramp stamp or slag tag and i love em lol0

Propellers.
Its worse if they're attached to a boat, and that boat is being transported...usually in front of my car. I faked breaking down so I didnt have to drive behind it. Boats actually really scare me too regardless of if they have an engine or not, I will cross the road if I have to walk past one or look away, which is great if I didnt live next to a canal leading to a dock full of boats.
Ceiling fans, fans, wind turbines, planes with external engines, lawnmowers, hairdryers....basically anything that spins.
Its actually ruining my life, Bristol isn't too far from me and refused to take my kids to the harbour festival and the only way to go visit MIL is by boat or helicopter.Little Person Number 4 Due March 2012

My phobia is very ordinary (spiders). My OH though, cannot stand small bits of paper. Receipts, post it notes etc. Sticky labels off CDs and books completely freak him out. We couldn't be in the full group photo at a recent wedding, because the groom and best man wanted to set off a confetti cannon as the photo was taken.

Butterflies and moths!
OH is scared of stickers. It amuses me but if he sees a sticker that's come unstuck he'll properly freak out!:www: Saving for a deposit - Target £30k by 24/03/14 (30th Birthday!) :www:

Usual: Spiders (absolutely terrify me!)
Unusual: The inside of pumpkins, with all the seeds. *shivers* Same for Melons, and anything else with lots of seeds in them. Bleugh, I hate them!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Mine is slugs/snails/worms. Oh, my heart races if I see one!
Also, people in masks TERRIFY me - even if it's a 'comedy' mask rather than a Halloween style mask. I just can't stand it.
Clowns freak me out too, but that doesn't seem to be so rare!0 -
The usual of the dark/ghosts. Unusually, wet hair on my neck...disgusting!0

My big mean 20 y/o son is terrified of slugs!
I hate horses and will cross the street or hide in a shop to avoid them.. and cows.. evil hell beasts!
Craneflies and dragonflies *shudder*.. worst of all the things that look like butterflies but arent... *shudder and get goosebumps*..
Rats.. as a child I was convinced if I slept with my feet uncovered the rats would eat my toes.. and I could only get out of one side of the bed.. or else the rats would get my feet..
plughole hair... *bleurgh!!!* .. and those stray wet hairs that wriggle on you when in the shower.. they are foul.
Being breathed on.. it makes me want to scream and cry and run away.. and other peoples saliva.. I cant share a fork or even give the children a bite of food from my fork. If someone took food off my plate I wouldnt eat the rest. I wont drink out of a bottle my OH has drank from even.. and we have shared a lot more than cooties! lol I cant cup share.. I take my own with me..

Not so unusual - spiders, daddy-long-legs (have been running around our living room squealing at DH to 'save me' quite a bit lately!) and heights, although that runs into me not being able to use certain escalators and stairs, if there isn't a safe wall against them or full steps and the like.
Hate doughnuts to the point that the smell of them or seeing someone else eat one makes me want to be sick.
The worst one to deal with is fear of stuffed animals. Not teddy bears, taxidermy. Have had several freaky moments in museums (which otherwise I quite enjoy) either walking past walls of them or suddenly finding things. The bigger the animal the worse I am. In my head they are going to wake up and attack me!:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls
