TESCO called a customer a "Thief"

ROFL... Though it would be funny, I don't want to give them any more profit until I get an apology
(otherwise the current CS will still have their snobby opinions..)

Ok guys. Got a reply:
"Dear Mr xxx
Thank you for your letter. Please accept my apologies for the delay in replying.
I was concerned to learn of the problems you experienced at our Stafford Extra store and for any further annoyance caused by the reply sent from our customer service department.
I would like to offer you my sincere apologises that ou feel our staff member was accusing you of being a thief and a con artist. Although I do not believe that this was their intention, I can understand how upsetting this matter has been for you and your girlfriend.
Please let me reassure you that we do treat matters of this kind very seriously indeed. The matter has been discussed with Andy Carroll our Store Manager, and he has addressed your concerns with Nathan. Andy will ensure that further training is given to the staff members concerned, to avoid problems like this from happening in the future.
I appreciate the time you have taken to write to me and I apologise once again for the problems you have encountered. I hope that despite your experience, you will continue to shop with us in the future.
Yours Sincerely
Terry Leahy
Chief Executive"
I was surprised at the amazing quality of the paper, but unfortunately that was it.
What did annoy me was:
"I do not believe that this was their intention"!!! I cant believe that. Why? Quote from Nathan:
"You are trying to con us by exploiting our policy"
"The reason I'm not letting you have the return is I believe your a thief and con artist"
etc....
Hmmm he made his intentions pretty clear right?
No vouchers or anything included btw.
What should I do now? Move on or take it further.... Can't beleive the "intentions" bit!!![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

get the local rags involved on the human interest headline.
if this had been an attack on a 'coloured' person this would have been headline grabbing UK wide news. What this guy has done is unacceptable and he should be sacked.
take it all the way and let people know what sort of yobs Tesco are employing.0 -
Sorry but I'm only a student so a bit ignorant in how to go about doing it all....
Thanks[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

He obviously meant "thief" and "con artist" in a loving, we value your custom way. How can Nathan be to blame if you misinterpreted that MK?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Another update. Recevied ANOTHER letter from the store manager Andy Carrol.
"After thoroughly investigating your concerns I am confident that the situation was dealt with through the correct company procedures. Having questioned the other members of staff involved I am also confident that Nathan has not acted inappropriately".
This comes after the letter from Sir Terry apologising for Nathan's behaviour... so good communication between them!
Now I'm assuming the stupid old women on customer services have said "no didn't hear anything bad" and stuck by him? Either way being called a thief in front of a lot of people, accusing me of doing things I didn't do... well, that seems inappropriate to me and Sir Terry.
Whats my next action ya think? May just send one more letter to Sir Terry including the letter from the store manager and explain that I'm confused how it is NOT inappropriate to lie, call customers a thief and commit libel (defamation of character) publically.....
Opinions please..[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

i would ask this andy whats his name to look at the cctv cameras and see then how his nathan acted.. that would put a different look on thingsThose we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -
lol was more than 2 weeks ago.. thus the cctv is prob gone now!!!!
I am thinking of asking to meet andy and explain to him I was accused of stealing and was provided with no evidence... and ask how this is appropriate behaviour of someone representing the store?[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Looking at your post you are doing exactly the same as the manager that called you a thief, albeit not to the same severity, and I quote.."assuming the stupid old women on customer services " so in effect you are as bad as, though im certainly not agreeing with the manager. He who throws stones etc et cetc0
