TESCO called a customer a "Thief"

Hey there.
Recently had an incident at Tesco while trying to use the Misprice Policy. I believe it should be posted here as it was NOT to do with the misprice thread on MSE and actually a seperate ordeal. I was using it due to a misprice I saw on my receipt.
Originally I was told the policy had expired, then I was told by paying i accepted the higher price, then I was told multiple labels were out so the higher one would count etc etc..
Either way after arguing with the Deputy Manager he accused me of being a con artist, scammer and a thief. He told me I'd done itbefore on a tv for example, though I have NEVER EVER bought a tv in my life from tesco's so I couldn't believe it when he said that.
Either way it wasn't a lot so I took a full refund in anger of the situation. The deputy manager then told me this proved his theory I'm a thief! Couldn't believe it!
I wrote to head office and got a reply today saying basically "Sorry we'll tell the store manager".
Should I leave it there or take it further? I feel its blatent age discrimination as I'm 19.. If i was a 34 year old woman for example I doubt I would have been called a thief etc etc...
Thanks for any help

I think I would be tempted to contact Tesco HO in writing. Am I right in thinking it's the Tesco Extra by you MK?0

The reply I quote in my original message was from Tesco HO. That's why I'm surprised!
I'm at university in Stafford where it happened.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

I personally think these things look better in writing, send recorded delivery so you know they've got it too. Good luck!0

Have you done something similar with electrical goods,or regularly at all in other tescos stores? Is this the point he was making? Not saying what he said was right however.Tescoes have this policy, they dont seem to like it when people claim under it though.0

I have never returned an electrical product at any Tesco store. He specificially said I was on CCTV doing it with a TV. This however was an outright lie.
They can't accuse me of being a thief when I'm simplying querying the policy they have on a big blue board! It tookplace in front ofa LOT of customers and so my girfriend and I were rather embarrassed and upset by the situation. Will see what Sir Terry says![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."
