Also try local newspapers and posting on https://www.tesco-complaint.blogspot.com and tell all friends and family how Tesco treated you and get them to complain too if they will.

That is a great website! - just proves how BAD Tesco customer service is.
  • If you were a 19 year old you should have asked him if he liked his teeth when he called you a thief.

If he's going to treat you like a criminal you might as well act like one.

But just stick to threats though, as there could be a camera in the room. Saying what would happen when he went to his car if he didn't apologise.

That certainly would make him think twice about what came out of his mouth next though :)

This is the BIG question that I've asked in my letters....

Why can't they understand that misprices GENUINELY do occur and not everyone who gets overcharged is doing it on purpose?!??!?!?!?!

Its simply a policy for promotional value by the sounds of things! As soon as a real case comes along for an expensive product, they don't want to know!

The other interesting thing is they are allowed to say no and give no reason as the policy isn't statute. HOWEVER, this guy didn't just say no.. he said no and proceeding to slanderous comments about myself and my girlfriend!

Not needed in my opinion. Anyway will post a reply for Sir Terry if I ever get one..

Hello from another person with a stafford uni connection (my son attends there).

He was in the big Tesco Extra a few weeks ago, got some fish (during his weekly shop) that he noticed was priced at a diff price on the SEL than on the box - needless to say it went through at the higher price so he approached CS and pointed it out, they offered him the difference and he said no, I'd like to take you up on your refund offer, so they did, but if he hadn't known about the policy he wouldn't have pressed for it.

I went 2 days later but they'd changed the SEL.
  • Heh, the thread title reminded me of when the security guy at Tesco stopped me, after I'd walked in his sight from the till to the entrance. He told me if I couldn't prove I'd bought the pint of milk(!) I was holding he'd have to take me to speak to the manager, while I was standing just past the bin they keep there full of people's receipts... I got a bit of a crowd while I gave him an indignant lecture about how much it'd cost his employer in damages per hour if he was stupid enough to try to illegally detain me and questioned his ability to do his job without knowing the limits of a citizen's arrest. And then I showed him my receipt. In hindsight that was probably a bit rude.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and I'm also reminded of the time the CS hag accused me of scamming them by getting a Duty Manager to contradict her and actually honour their "not satisfied" refund policy, which prompted me not to set foot in a Tesco for several years.

But I bet it still felt good though ;)

None at all. I haven't had any reply from any other Tesco personnel. Wondering if I should just leave this now and never go back into Tescos again which is a bl**dy shame as I did like them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do I go in and have a meeting with the manager? Do I write back to the original head office person who originally just said "sorry" and nothing else... Or what?

    Thanks

As for the other use with Stafford connection, That's the difference.. fish = tiny cost so its fine. Anything proper though and suddenly you're a thief.

    Disgraceful.

Go back in as normal but try and wear a t shirt with "I'm Not a Thief, Honest" or something similar written on. That should reassure the staff. :)
