TESCO called a customer a "Thief"

I know this because my girlfriend was involved too, and he made sure he said "I think YOU are trying to con us" etc.. pointing at me and not involving my girlfriend.
EDIT
re-reading that would be age and gender descrimination. Ah well
No, MK, this is definitely taking your complaint too far. I appreciate your experience couldn't have been a pleasant one and I think it's good you wrote to Sir Terry (and I wish you luck with the outcome). Trying to involve the police won't get you anywhere and would just waste your time and theirs.0 -
Ok. Ye I was worried my anger would start making me think things too far! It was someone elses suggestion but I had no intention really of going to the police. Just thought I'd ask!
As i said in last one will wait for terry's reply now![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

It's a pity that you didn't have any 'Friends' witness the incident (if you know what I mean):)"Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0

What will terry leahy do? Firstly he isnt going to be reading your letter. Secondly whoever actually writes the response will say somethign bland and inoffensive and which they really don't mean. You would be better hitting Tesco where it hurts and exposing their behaviour for eg on here where thousands have read it. Also try local newspapers and posting on https://www.tesco-complaint.blogspot.com and tell all friends and family how Tesco treated you and get them to complain too if they will. Tesco have no right to accuse you of theft without proofas that is defamatory and amounts to slander which you could sue for..0

If the refund was carried out at the same till as the purchase, and by the same member of staff, that should identify her/him by a reference number on the receipt.0 -

I never thought for one moment that Mr Leahy would deal with MK's complaint. However, having worked in HO's myself (for two major retail organisations) I know that letters to 'the top' usually get the right people dealing with them from the start. Tesco may do things differently though.0
