I am claiming against Choice catalogues (Littlewoods shop direct group) for charges for unpaid cheques etc - can I claim back the £4.95 for 'late return administration charges' (returning items back after the 2 week deadline). Any help welcome.0

You could theoretically but at £4.95 you'd have great difficulty convincing a judge that it was an unfair charge.
You seem to not understand that the point of all these court cases isn't that default charges themselves are unlawful, it's the price point they are set at.Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.0 -
Thanks for that (well that's me well and truly told off!!!!) :T0

Kimmie,
For Simply BE i skipped the whole LBA because i was fuming when i received the 'it all your own fault letter'...it was a moment of madness which luckily paid off, i would not advise anyone to do that though, follow Martins schedule and you'll be fine
Hi Shelley
Got an email form the catalogue companies, stating receipt of my claim and acknowledging that they will contact me within the next 5 days - 5 days gone and no call or emal yet. Lets see.

Hi I don't know whether anyone can help me but here goes; i'm claiming my charges back from Argos, I have just received the statements back from them and am unsure which is the 'charge' ? The list they have given me is: purchase, payments, fin charges, other db, other cr, returns, disputes, past due, total due and balcnce. Does anyone know which would be the charge I am claiming for ?
Many thanks in advance

Hi i had a next catalogue in August 2005 i paid in full after a default last July 2006 after getting in debt largely not helped by bank charges. I am wondering if i can claim any charges against me for this? Even though its closed. Is the process the same for getting statements? Thanks Cally0

Yes you can reclaim from catalogues and the process for getting your details is the same as with bank charges. You are making a Subject Access Request under the Data Protection Act for the information they hold about you and this applies to any financial institution. There is a thread here dealing specifically with catalogues that may help you:
