can i claim the admin fee from catalogues

  • My wife received a statement from Studio cards mail order catalogue with an administration charge for a late payment. could we claim in the same way you do for Banks.

    Ive wrote to them asking them to explain their charges and give me some sort of proof that I asked for payment protection - i'll let you know how i get on , and ive asked for my £200.00 administration charges back aswell!!

    I have finally got a print out of all our charges. Did you receive a standard letter with your list stating "that the OFT did not state that the £12 threshold was applicable to other types of consumer agreements and now the one we have with you".

    Cheeky !!!!!!s stated that they have applied a refund to my account of £1.

    WOW...............

    Is this standard? How quick were they from this stage once you sent of your listed charges?

    Also they don't state late payment fees etc, all they have listed is administration fees ( with code Internal charge C) (which I pressume are the same thing), Does this sound familiar?????????

    Yes i got this too and thought it was very rude, thats why i ended up filing with MCOL early, they really peeved me off!

    Keep going, send the next letter, they might give in before you need to issue a claim!

    lol, the £1 refund, what the hell is that about! Send them a letter saying you'll accept the £1 as partial refund, lol....no dont bother it'd cost you that to post it rec del!

    Jd, simply, fashion world, that went to a debt company, I won all my bank charges and paid them off.

    Just realised i can claim back from them.

    Who would be the best person to get the statements from......Collection agency or catolouge?
  • As I am having a few troubles with my printer, I have just tried to email Ace and Littlewoods to request the statements or list of charges.

    Has this method been successful for anyone else?

    Does anyone know if this will work for any other companies?

    I have sent an email to littlewoods requesting statements but account is actually now with NDR so see what happens.

    Any advise on this anyone would be fab

    I have looked in to this, and it is best to send to the collection agency as they are the people with your account details.

    Well it looks like cap1 have credited my account with £32.(yippee!!!), lol. I have sent off next letter - lba - and will wait to see what occurs there. We are only talking about another £200.

    My husband was told at the weekend, that a credit would appear on his card tomorrow. When he called today, they said that they had no details of a credit and he would have to wait and see if one appeared tomorrow - all calls go to India. What kind of inconsistency is this?????????
