I sent Littlewoods the letter requesting statements back on 23/03/07, had one letter since saying they are looking into this and it could take a while and i still have not received anything, how long did they take to send ur statements out, i think i have a lot of charges on this account and im thinking maybe that is why they are delaying??

Today is the 47th day! Im thinking i should do something about this, any ideas how i can get them to respond!

got a letter from studio cards today with 70 pounds of vouchers for studio cards (ace).

Went on the website to buy some stuff and found out my account has been credited with 60 pounds!

the letter that i recieved says this:-

However, not withstanding this, as a gesture of goodwill and without prejudice, i have removed the administration charges from your account. Our records reflect that administration charges have been added to your account to the value of 60.00 with 5.80 interest calculated at the statutory rate, and that your balance is 0.00. Therefore, as your balance is clear vouchers for 70.00 have been enclosed for the difference between the three amounts, which can be used against a future order.

So does that mean i can spend 60 pounds and use up my credit on my account and also use these 70 pounds worth of vouchers on another order?

I dont want to spend the whole 130 pounds to then owe them 70 pounds if you know what i mean!!

sent first letter on the 24th of april. got a reply today saying
" i have to note the comments in your letter however i would point out the under consumer credit legislation we are justified in applying a charge where defualt of our payment terms has occurred. The OFT considered the question of default charges in relation to store cars. it is questionable whether thier findings apply to other forms of credit, including mail order. the oft did NOT state that these charges were unlawful, but that in general terms, should not exceed £12 per charge.
I have interrogated out systems and note two default charges of £20.
Accordingly,i am enclosing a cheque to the value of £16 which represents the difference between uor prvios charges, and the OFT recommended threshold.

What do i do now? I havent sent the second letter yet just the first one?

Many Thanks :) I have emailed Viva la Diva (in debt over some shoes :o ) to request my statements, I did manage to log in and see a few months worth of charges but I know they go back further, and as soon as a minute I'll give Capital One a call...

    Thanks again,
    Stacie

    Help Please!!

I had a reply from Viva la Diva saying "thank you for your email. Due to the time elapsed and the account having being passed for outside collection we cannot provide you with the information requested."

Can I reply with "Thank you for your email. Due to the time elapsed being only just over 1 year, I would suggest that someone within Viva La Diva/JD Williams has access to my account and can therefore send me copies of statements as requested. If this is not the case please refer me to the company (perhaps the DCA?) who can provide this information.

    Kind Regards,
    Me"

Or should I go straight to the DCA? Should I mention that I can in fact still log in to my account and see 3 months worth of statements on there so if I can see some, they must be able to...?

    Thanks,
    Stacie

    Hi
I have received my statements from studio cards (there seems to be a whole year missing from june 05 - june 06) but i have just totted it up and this is what I have paid in 3-4 years:

    SERVICE CHARGE - £221.93P

    PAYMENT PROTECTION - £ 146.06

    ADMINISTRATION CHARGES - £200.65P

The invoices for goods - total £703.97p
So it has cost me £568.64p in charges to buy £703.97p worth of goods!!

What can I claim back if anything?

Im afraid you can only get back admin charges, not sure about payment protection. I doubt it as they probably had u sign up for something. I never had any payment protection!

Studia made it really easy for me, they replied after my first letter with £80 refunded and i only asked them for £60. They cleared my balance! Mustve only taken 2 weeks or so, didnt make me go to court...unlike some!

Hi, I have just complained to Studio Cards for charging £20 late payment & £1service charge for an £8.47 bill. I faxed the head office on 01943 864986 & submitted a complaint via the https://www.howtocomplain.com website. They responded really quickly (the letter was dated the same day as my fax). Although it was just a standard 'as a gesture of goodwill' letter they have removed both charges.

It is worth noting that according to their statement the Service Charge is added if you pay by monthly instalments, but I have never paid by instalments & this is not the first time they have added this on but when challenged they do deduct it so it is worth checking that these charges are justified. Good Luck
