Well you can't change the date of an anniversary...

Anyway,a lot of people 'owe' before they get paid, sometimes utilities,if they've been on benefits they may have bills delayed etc etc And,aside from that,it is a lesson -he'll be prioritising his money when he gets it because he has to pay his dad back :)

I've only read the first and last page, but if it was my son taking his girlfriend out for a celebration I'd be paying for them both. Not somewhere expensive perhaps, but you can have a good meal for not too much money and it is important to both of them.

That is why I directed him to groupon, KGB, last minute.com where they do all the packages, this site, vouchers, discounts, coupons, it is all there for the taking:D

No you can't change the date.

Victory, seeing as you came on here asking for opinions,
how about letting us have a vote about what you should do? :)
Or was your mind already completely made up before the conversation started?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

No vote away, it is a discussion, gathering opinions, seeing others point of views, trying to find the best solution, I agree with newcook and lost seems very good solution and the post where it was pointed out that he will have 2 weeks more money worth, never thought of that and am very grateful to have my eyes opened to that point:D

I love it when people read the first post then jump straight to the end to put in their 2p’s worth!!!

If some were to read the whole thread they would see that you said on page 4 that you are going to lend him the money!

I'd lend it to him but maybe no more than he would have received by now if no mix up so that he is no borrowing what he hasn't yet earnt. I'd also have a little chat about doing it this time as he hasn't any savings but from now on he must build up savings from his pay so that if something similar happens again he can cope. All good life experience, these type of things happen and he won't always have someone to bail him out + it feels good to be independent and be able to cope without help.
