so what was the reason for starting the thread then?Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0 -
yes i can safely say that it is not the person!!I can't see that that can be the sister's thread.
The OP on there says:
and Totally Supurb says her sister is going to invite her parents.
It also mentions the OP having 2 girls and Totally Supurb says her sister has one child who was pageboy at her wedding.
Don't know about anybody else but I'm getting mightily confused.0 -

What was the significance of this comment on that thread though:Totally_Supurb wrote: »If you want to do it just the two of you then there's not a problem if you have a big family and thats not what you want but if you only have a small family thats a different matter. I had quite a big wedding with 60 guests and all paid by myself and my husband, but, that was our choice and i know everyone is not the same. I personally think that it's quite selfish of anyone that doesn't include a small family especially if it's local. We'll see won't we.
It just sounds a bit 'off' in the circumstances - almost as though it was a message directed to someone else, not the OP of the 'Cheap Wedding' thread.0 -
Once someone posts on an MSE board, the information is in the public domain. Guard your privacy is a frequent warning. Superb's sister has given details of her wedding to a couple of hundred thousand online viewers and given enough information to be indentified. Well that's her tough luck as far as I'm concerned. She should have been more careful.
As her mother, I would be very upset if Superb knew about my other daughters' plans and didn't tell me. I am close to my daughters and the thought of being kept in ignorance and excluded would be too much.
Sorry that you've been abused and insulted for a very human and understandable response to a painful situation, OP.0 -
If it's who I think it is, the OP only knows because she knows the username of a family member and has been eavesdropping, rather than because there was enough detail to identify them.
TS, good to see you've calmed down and realised you were being unreasonable at first. I hope you and your family show enough kindness to each other to get over this kerfuffle without too much hurt and resentment, because others *will* find out that you know soon enough if not already.0 -
please can i say one more time you will not know who it is! i haven't commented on any of her posts or posts that shes commented on!!If it's who I think it is, the OP only knows because she knows the username of a family member and has been eavesdropping, rather than because there was enough detail to identify them.

That's exactly what I thought - strange comment to put. I wondered if it was directed at another poster than the OP...
Anyhow, the OP of this thread has decided that she doesn't want any more advice... I'm back off to the Weddings board

I'd be hurt if my sister got wed and invited everyone BUT me. However if its just the parents of each, thats different. As once you add siblings (and Other halves, kids) it goes from 6 to say 16.
I'm sure your mum prefers to know in advance so she can keep the day free! (surely your sister must have booked her for the day rather than hope she is free) and possiby buy an outfit or book hair in advance. But your mum can keep stum and act surprised.
However, i'd NOT start a thread on the same forum as my sister as she will read it and know all about the issue and get mad when you could have just asked her about it (as its perfectly legit for you to have spotted it on a public forum and thats a risk she runs if she asks for advice)0
