See my signature and posts on the previous couple of pages, success on the total mortgage protection policy(TMPP) it can be quite hard to get a success on this as you pay it monthly and it can be cancelled at any time, it's not like a loan with an upfront single policy ppi, where it's like getting a 2nd loan.
Thanks to all the competition posters.

    Evening all!

My wife got a call from the Halifax today and they ask for me by name - I was out so they said they would call back by the haven' (no surprise!)

The number they called from was 08007312316 - now was that something about the PPI repayment or, as I am guessing after having a google, is it their sales people trying to get meto take another credit card with them :)

Just wondered what number shows up if the Halifax PPI crew tries to call me.

    Cheers

** EDIT: Got a call back at half seven....they were trying to flog more services. I got all excited thinking they were going to tell me how much they were going to repay :(

Yes, I have at the beginning of September. I'm still waiting to hear anything from them.

Ditto here too..... at the end of my tether now. Phone weekly to be given the same old lines from the same old script. Cannot be put through to anyone more senior or anyone in calculations team or Sinead who wrote to me after my eMail to CEO complaining about the handling of my complaint ..... she is in different location and will ring me back apparantly because the redress team have sent her an eMail asking her to.... yeah right, course she will.

I cannot believe the way they are handling this and the complete lack of communication around timescales etc. Turning me into a right grumpy cow now:eek:. I think 6 months is long enough to have to wait, they have had time to get their act together now and need to get their house in order - it is a total shambles.

    Bit of an update ....

Had a call from Helen (Halifax, Chester) who said she had taken over Sinead's exec complaints (guessing this is what they call it when you write an eMail to the CEO). She said that there were basically 3 sorts of complaints:
    • Loans,
    • Credit Cards
    • Mortgages
Each of these have their own queue and each queue is being handled in strict date order. I questioned this as I have seen people on here who have received their payments by now but who complained at a date some time after me. She said she has been re-assured that they are adhering to the date of complaint and there is no way that complaints can jump the queue for any reason whatsoever....

She still says she is unable to provide any idea of timescale but she has promised to ring me each Friday with an update on my case. My first call is scheduled for a week this Friday..... thats only 5 calls and then its Christmas -so don't hold out much hope for anything before next year tbh

I also moaned about the lack of communication and the fact that any update is customer driven and had I not have phoned I would not have heard a murmur since late August. She was very sympathetic and said that in their daily meetings she repeatedly suggests that the Bank need to be communicating with customers around settlement timescales but in her words, they just dont take it on board.

Got to say she had an excellent manner and seemed to really appreciate the frustration that this is causing. She said that on receipt of copy phone bills they will happily refund the cost of all my calls to them for updates .... might hold off on doing that for now until I am sure I dont have any reason to ring them (ie I have my refund safely deposited!!).

Not sure if this is progress but at least they have listened and I feel a bit more confident that my complaint hasnt fallen down a black hole.... watch this space I guess

OK heres an upadate on what the Halifax are telling me now.
They are trying to get through the complaints as quick as possible, but it can take up to 12 weeks for a final response letter and then a further 30 days for a payment to be made. I questioned the final response letter and the girl told me that this is the letter with the calculations on it and not the acceptance letter which I recieved in August. She also added that she cannot put timescales on any individual claim. When I asked about the status of my claim she said it was still in the calculation stage.
If this is true my letter should be here next week as I am in week 11 now with an outside chance of getting my money before xmass!! Then again maybe not! But at the very least the Halifax have improved their customer relations in comparision to the 'theres a backlog, we cant give timescales' that they were coming out with every week for the past 2 months when I was calling!!!

Thanks for the update. I submitted a claim on 3rd October and I should hear Christmas week if it has been accepted.

They received my acceptance on 3rd September and so far nothing. I have phoned them every week and been told its still with calculations.

I filed a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman today, I have to give them 8 weeks to investigate further but they are happy to proceed.

Maybe we should bombard Halifax with FO complaints.

Reading through this forum Halifax appears to be dragging its heals longer than any other bank.
  • There is no way they are doing the acceptances in date order!

I am in the group who have been waiting since Halifax received my acceptance on 3rd September.

However my DH sent a claim in on 15th August, on Friday the rebate figures have appeared on his CC account, cheque was issued yesterday, we have only received acceptance of fact he has put a claim in, no upheld letter or offer.

So why has he been paid out and I haven't? So frustrating

That's exactly what happened to me, but I complained on 13th September and got a cheque on Friday!
