I'd just like to get some calculations at the moment!

We've got a leak from both the toilet in the bathroom, and our downstairs 'spare' toilet, and need to get someone out to sort both of them out, but can't until we've got some money to pay for the work. At the moment we've had to turn the cold water feed off from the water tank for the bathroom, and as the shower runs from a different feed, we're having to get water from the shower to the cistern via a bucket to be able to flush. I'd like to sort it out before the cold weather sets in too.

    Finally the end in near.
Was on internet banking earlier and noticed that the outstanding balance on my existing loan was reduced substantially only £14 remain. So called them up again even though I was only on the phone to them 2 days ago, to be told my letter was posted y.day. Anyway it turns out that the £1800 outstanding on my balance has been effectively cleared and I will receive a cheque shortly of just over 2 grand!!! It can take up to 30 days to be processed by I should have it by xmass!!
By the way I got my acceptance on 25th August and it was with the Halifax on 2nd September.

Hope this gives you some hope that there is a bit of movement going on!!

I think you said you sent yours in beggining of Sept? if so they have 12 weeks to reply to you as at 31st August to 31st December and then after Jan it goes back to the 8 weeks.

Thank you. That means the 12 weeks is up next week. Looks like I'll be making my first phone call soon in order to chase things up.
  • Oh im getting so frustrated with halifax now. Im really trying to be patient and not let myself get wound up by this but ive just read a post on the success thread where someone has got upheld and payment from halifax within few weeks!! What are they playing at?? Im now thinking that all of us in the 3rd sept acceptance gang have our details sitting on the desk of someone who's on sick leave......maybe antonio was looking after ours personally :mad::mad: theres got to be some reason why theres a whole batch sitting while others are being rattled through. Obviously the new staff are dealing with those and are actually a competent crew!!! ...... Ah well the wait continues, not sure i have the energy to keep phoning, its not helped so far, as nice as nerys is we are still no further forward :(:(

Credit card ppi appears to be paid back!

    APR REFUND 598.96
    REBATE REFUND 690.28
    PREMIUM REFUND 1128.40

Is this the breakdown of ppi, 8%, then further interest in ascending order?

Seems like something is happening with my claims too. I have a refund of over £1,100 on my credit card account which seems to have been deducted back out as a cheque so I expect to receive that soon.

I have just made a quick call to the complaints team at Halifax and I was advised that calculations are still ongoing for my two loans. Although I did phone two days ago and the person I spoke to said there was nothing new to tell me even though the refunds had hit my credit card two days prior. Makes me wonder if they actually are giving us proper up to date info or if they are just telling us the usual "large backlog, can't give you date" spiel to fob us off!!

As I am one of the late August/early September gang this should give some hope to anyone else who sent back acceptances at that time but is still waiting to hear back.
  • We're in the late August/Early Sept gang too and have heard jack from Halifax - time to ring again

I wrote on the other thread so will put here too.

Spoke to Halifax today to question the loan ppi I submitted with the CCs and said they are now dealing with May complaints (ie the late Aug/early September acceptance forms gang) as a matter of urgency.

I have letters in the post apparently.
  • I phoned halifax today as my ppi claim was in the calculation department since September 3rd my claim is for 4 loans and 1 credit card I worked out I should get about £10,000, they said a letter was on its way with a final offer of about £7,500 which i am happy to take. its enough to pay my loan and credit card off and not break into my savings.
