  • I'm wondering too how long after a final response letter does it take for the cheques to arrive - that would be very helpful!
  • Into week 13 since we got our upheld letter. Called for weekly update this morning. Our friend Nerys is on holiday this week. Her colleague Teresa confirmed no Further progress. It is still with calculations, its been there for 3 weeks. I quoted recent cases here where complaints have recently been upheld and paid out in a few weeks, disputing their claim that they are dealing with them in date order. She maintains they really are. Im getting very frustrated with them and told her that someone is lying and i dont imagine the people on here have any reason to claim they are getting paid out if they are not!!! Unless it is antonio, sitting at home posting just to wind us up!!! I said it all in 'the nicest possible way' but i reckon i will be put to the bottom of the queue after that call!!!

I have just been told the same, that my straightforward claim is still with calculations!!!!!
Surely it is time the Halifax got this sorted, people with claims going in in july and august are now getting paid. I have been letting it all go over my head till now, I just dont think we will ever get paid.:mad:
  • Well I know for a fact they are not doing them in date order, I too will be week 13 on Friday but my DH has been paid out and his claim was put in alot later than mine

Every day I check my CC but no payment in, I'm lucky my bamace is nil so money all mine, it is beyond a joke
  • Still waiting since my late August upheld letter and still phoning now and then to see if they ever say anything different and, guess what...... today they did!!!!!
The guy I spoke to said that all complaints like mine (asked him what this meant and he said who had been waiting since May) WILL be concluded by 15th December.....
That means calculations and cheque will be with me by then AT THE LATEST......!! Quite excited!! I asked him to put that date in writing and he said he couldn't - surprise, surprise but he noted on my notes (which probably extend to something the size of a large encylopedia) that he had informed me that is what I should expect. I said I would be going to FOS if they fail this time - their incompetence is unbelievable.
I am expecting my first Friday update from Helen this week so I will see if her story is the same.
Interestingly they have a new recorded message when you phone now - something along the lines of "We will deal with your complaint within 12 weeks but it may take a further 30 days for a cheque to be issued, if appropriate". I did quote that when I got through but fell on deaf ears. Its been over 6 months for me now ... on the plus side they gonna have to pay me more money because they messed up on their svr cap - got a letter yesterday
    !
Happy days in December I feel :T:j:T

I logged into my online banking today and there are 3 transactions on my credit card showing refunds. This ties in with what a lot of people have said where they refund the card, then cancel that and issue a cheque. I'm thrilled this is finally going ahead, my acceptance letter was received by them on 7th September. I will post once I have received the letter and the cheque. Hopefully the cheque for my loan PPI claim will be sent soon too!

    Keep the faith people! :j

JUst to add fuel to the debae that Halifax are not doing anything in date order.

I sent a letter in on 9th Sept to complain about PPI, after a couple of weeks heard nothing back so rang them (27th Sept) and spoke to someone who noted my complaint. Rang a couple of weeks back to say that I still hadn't had anything back, and wanted to know what was going on - no aknowledgement letter or anthing. Was told a leter had been sent but a copy would be raised. Still haven't got that either! Was told my complaint had started from the 27th though not the 9th despite my letter being signed for. Checked on-line today and 3 payments have appeard. One for payments, one for APR refund and one for 8% refund. Total around £650 which I am very pleased about.
Wage Day Advance, Quick Quid, Pounds to Pocket and Pounds Till Payday....i'm after you

    Update:

One credit card has been credited and debited so should get a cheque soon.
Just got off the phone to Halifax with regards to another credit card and 5 loans all received at the same time as the 1st card but these have no updates on the system. When I asked how, if they were going through cases in a commen sense or date order, one can be sorted and the others not I was told an E-mail would be sent to the calculations dept. This could take 5 working days. No explanation though.

Every time I have rung there is a different procedure to go through, another fobb off etc. I conclude they don't have a system at all.
  • Hi,
Can anyone tell me if there are any guidelines regarding the amount of time banks are supposed to take issuing calculations/cheques. I have been waiting 8 weeks now.
I have phoned several times and keep getting told it is at the calculations dept.
    Gettin p***** off now!
Does anyone have email address or phone number for me to complain to?
    Thanks
  • They certainly aren't doing anything in date order. It seems I had to really push to get what I got last month. My youngest brother got a letter this morning to inform him he was due 10.4k from the Halifax, he only put in a claim two months ago!.........and poor old mum whose been waiting since early September after her upheld acceptance.....hasn't even got a calculation yet :(
