Halifax PPI redress Payments
Comments

Hi all
This weeks update:
Claim 1 - Acceptance received with bank 3rd September - according to some bloke who answered Nerys's phone today Nerys is on holiday and will now be working on a new work stream!?! He wasnt very sure what is going on with my claim other than paperwork ordered from archive 13 days ago. He's emailed redress to call me, not holing my breath
Claim 2 - acceptance received 12th September - calculations sent out to me 2nd class two days ago. Date order?!?! Dont think so!!!
At least I'm getting somewhere. Apparently cheque can take 30 days from when calculations issued so maybe I'll get that one before xmas.

Whilst this is my first post, i've been watching this thread (and the PPI board in general) for some time.... anyway, after some good news last month, have had more this month....
I had two separate claims logged with Halifax back in June...
Can't recall exact dates, but....
First claim, against 2 personal Loans.
"we received your complaint" letter dated 2 June.
"we've upheld" with forms dated 27 August.
On calling them last week, it turns out the payment for on 19 September.
Then, today, received letter (dated 18 November) with payout details for both Loans. Still waiting for the cheque.
This includes interest up to 16 Dec, which i guess covers the up to 30 days to receive the actual payment.
For reference, Loan 1 was Sep 02 - Feb07 (paid of early by...)
Loan 2, Feb 07, to Oct 10 (paid off early, due to end Feb12).
Second claim, submitted 3rd week June (somewhere around 22nd).
This for PPI on a credit card held since 2003/2004.
Aside from Acknowledgement letter (and subsequent we have 16 weeks letter), next communication was Upheld (with payout details) and Cheque arriving same date (though dated 12 and 13 October).
For the record, both complaints were submitted solely via calling the Hallifax PPI claim hotline, and the only paperword i've had to send them is the payment form on the 27th August letter for my loan claims.
And only other contact i've had with Halifax is the odd phone call saying "whats going on", no e-mails to CEO or anything. So would guess those on similar timescales to mine (for loans at least) should be getting something through shortly.
All the Best....0 -
An interesting Evening for us.
I called nerys number yesterday and Teresa told me she was on holiday. She checked progress for us and said nothing to report. I wasnt happy and let her know. She said that they werent actually in the ppi dept so couldnt say what the process was exactly.
Having read so many posts here about how they are obviously not working in date order i decided to ring their normal ppi number this evening to see what they ad to say. Girl told me that due to the unacceptable delay ours had been marked high priority and a confirmed date was given of 15th dec at latest for payment. Hardly what i call high priority!!
I questioned why someone called my hubby this morning. He missed the call. She went on to check and said that if he called personally she would be able to tell him more,,,,,strange one!! So i got my OH to call back and they confirmed cheque had been issued on 18th nov and should be with us very soon. To call back on onday if not here by then.
Unfortunate thing is the payment is lower than we wouldve thought. Always avoided thinking about how much we'd get hoping it would be a nice surprise. But their figure is not close to where id have thought it shouldve been. Ah well we will know more when we get the calculations!! And hey at least somethng is finally on its way!!! :j:j:jMary B0 -
By the way we are one of the sept acceptance gang!! That is offer end of august, they received our acceptance 3rd sept!! It would also teach us to also call the ppi line although it may not be as easy to get through. Their info today was much better than Nerys' line yesterday. If the cheque was issued on 18th it seems strange that yesterday the ceo's people couldnt see that info on the screen. And if the message re payment by 15th only went on today then its clear there is no sensible system because the cheque was issued on 18th!!! As happy as I am that payment is (hopefully!!) on its way im still driven crazy by the Halifax's total mismanagement of this while thing.
And just for good measure, we got a call tonight from the guy from this morning ...... Guess what he wanted?? To offer us a balance transfer on our credit card!!! Youve gotta hand it to them, they really have a nerve!! Needless to say my OH told them where t get off!!!!!!Mary B0 -
I received a letter on 3rd October acknowledging our PPI complaint for a mortgage we had with Halifax from 2001 -2006, so that was 8 weeks ago but not heard anything since.
I have tried phoning the PPI number on the letter but I can never get through.0 -

I've been checking my online banking every day, waiting for something to show up on my loan or credit card. Finally, today, there is something there:
23 Nov 11 REBATE REFUND 23 Nov 11 55.10 CR
23 Nov 11 APR REFUND 23 Nov 11 93.28 CR
23 Nov 11 PREMIUM REFUND 23 Nov 11 217.05 CR
That's on the credit card that is still active, so I'm hoping that there is also something pending for my other credit card, which was up to it's £10k limit at one point.
Just waiting on my loan(s) to be sorted out now!
Upheld letter: 30/08
Acceptance received: 12/09 (10 weeks)~cherie0 -

Looks like we're in a similar situation although ALL my acceptance forms were received 03/09 (12 weeks ago).
Received a cheque yesterday for an active credit card which is in a slight credit balance. The monies hit the card on the 16th then removed on the 18th so you should get a cheque in a few days.
I have a closed card which has no action/calculations recorded and 5 other old loans with no action.
Luckily I am now debt free (apart from a mortgage) so all the money coming back will go into savings. I'm not sure what i'll get though as I can't remember what amounts the loans were for. I thought I'd get a couple of hundred back on the cards but I got £2.5k so shows how much they were stinging me for.
I take one positive from this whole debacle and that is that the Halifax have inadvertently helped me save a steady amount of money at 8% interest over the years that I probably wouldn't have done myself.0 -
WOW, Dont believe it, just spoken to the halifax and they say a letter as been sent to me on the 22nd with calculations, I am well pleased didnt expect that much!!! They said it had to be paid before the 15th december, well worth the wait :j:j
My claim was received by the hfx on the 27th may 20110 -
My cheque arrived today - acceptance letter was sent to them at the end of August... I still haven't had any calculation details, but a cheque for £4616.44 was well received!PPI Successes: Barclaycard £62,982.17, Halifax One Credit Card £4,616.440
