i sent my complaint first week in march got the cheque on saturday, so about 6 weeks in total for me
  • I sent my letter about 5 weeks ago now. Received a successful refund letter back (Wooooo!!!!) But the letter told me if i wished to accept the offer, DO NOT reply to the letter. Only call or send reply if i wasn't happy with it....Has anyone else had it worded like that? Eagerly expecting a cheque any day :D

Oh and well done everyone for making the debt free journey :)

i made a complaint on the phone yesterday and was told within 12 weeks i would be offered a payment (althought probably not much before the 12 weeks as very busy)

    is it that easy?
one call and get my money back seems to good to be true, im not that lucky somthing will go wrong for me
  • Made one phone call March 12th had no documentation / account number etc - Just the 4 digits from an old bank statement
They confirmed i had PPI on my loan back in 2004 - fully repaid in 2005, and that i would hear from them.
Received a letter confirming they were investigating the Misselling of PPI March 19th - Yesterday 23rd April had the letter to say they were upholding my complaint. Says i will receive a cheque within 28days
    for £1690.00
My letter also says to only reply if i do not want to accept their offer.
As it looks like a full redress i will now sit and wait for the cheque to arrive -
Hooray one down several more to go.
Thank you MSE and the experts on the forum for your advice and support and to all posters who were asking the same questions as me - good luck

Hi, I have received a leter from Halifax today saying my complaint has been upheld and as a final response are offering me £950 !:j

My question is that my credit card limit is £2200 and I have used up to £2180 of my card to date so I ony have £20 remaining credit. If Halifax are crediting £950 back in to my Credit Card account and they send me a cheque too for £950 then if I cash my cheque in to my Barclays current account I realise this will deduct the £950 from my credit card account but is there likely to be an ADDTIONAL debit/charge (i.e. possibly more than the £20 remaining) on my credit card account which would therefor take me OVER my limit of £2200 ?

Sorry I know this sounds a stupid question and I know that you may wonder why I dont just pay part of my credit card off but it's just that I'm getting married in the next 3 months and I could really do with this extra bit of money to put towards my big day !

Halifax obviously encourage you to use this redress payment to offset it against any outstanding debt but I'm assuming this isnt compulsory given that I'm not over my limit ?...I'm desperate to cash the £950 cheque but scared that an additional charge or debit will be deducted for doing so..

Please please help me people I would be extremely grateful for your advice..

    Thanks
