I too am in the May/late August group and was told a couple of weeks ago by a call handler that I would defo be settled by 15th December...

Well had my regular call with Helen from CEO's office today who is dealing with my complaint who said that no deadline had been agreed and I shouldn't have been given that date. I ranted again, getting pretty good at it now, and she called me later today to say a cheque would be issued either today or on Monday at the latest.

The offer came in the post today ......fingers crossed for a fantastic Crimbo for my beautiful family once the cheque arrives x

Cheque has just landed on my doormat :j:j:j

The end (nearly) of a long long journey. Just gonna get my phone bills re-imbursed now - clocked up about £40 over the last 6 months...

Good luck to everyone who is waiting x

I'm in the "claimed in May, upheld end of August" group. Phoned Halifax last Friday and was told that the money for this group would be sent by 15th December.
I have just checked my accounts online and it appears that the outstanding balance on my loan has dropped from -£640.00 (only had 2 payments left) down to -£0.63 ( a bit of an odd amount!). So it seems that the money from the ppi claim has been partly used to (almost) clear the remaining balance. (I hope).
    So fingers crossed:
    a) there's a cheque for the balance on its way
    b) all in our group are going to get their money very soon

Received my offer letter from Halifax this morning:

Total:£6471.87. (Within £150.00 of what I thought it would be)
Apparently I will receive a cheque "very shortly" for this amount less the sum used to clear my loan as above, which miraculously went down to "NIL" overnight!

I hope lots of others out there got similar good news this morning.

My mum and dad still have heard nothing, I phoned up for them and they said still nothing logged on the claim yet. Have you had any news on your claim yet?

    Thank you

Not yet - still waiting. I phoned them and they said I should hear by 22nd December if my claim has been upheld or not as the claim was logged on 29th September. If it has been upheld then they said it could take a further 30 days for payment.

Wahay, got cheque for £6k today
Almost used a claims management company after being cold called 12 months ago. After coming on MSE to check it all out decided to do it myself. What a result!

    It can be done!
Many thanks to all the brilliant posters on MSE who gave me the knowledge and the confidence to do it myself.

    Halifax: £6.4k
    Northern Rock: £1.8K

Halifax update for any in the September acceptance gang.

Called yesterday as advised on various issues and finally some movement on my old personal loans. I have letters in the post apparently but was given figures over the phone. Payment will be made within 30 days after I accept the offer.

There is still one credit card that I am waiting on but so far:

£11.5k for mortgage - will be credited by 15th Dec
    £8k for loans and CCs

I started my PPi journey off my own back but this site has been a good source of keeping up to date and asking the odd question so thanks to all.

Did you make your claim in September, or did you receive your acceptance letter in September?

I made a claim for Halifax Mortgage PPI on 29th September and have been waiting over 10 weeks and still not had a response. I have phoned them twice but am reluctant to phone again in case they think I am pestering them.

Just want to know if my claim is being upheld.
