Halifax PPI redress Payments

Hi,
I am hoping one of you people 'in the know'! can help me with my calculation.
After waiting an eternity for my Halifax CC redress, I finally got the cheque. I requested a breakdown of the figures and one part of it has me confused.
The start date and the amount they have paid back all look fine. They have given me 8% simple interest for any months in credit and also given me 8% simple interest from date account closed to refund date. This is where my question comes in - the date they have put the account as closed is November 2011. The refund date is December 2011. So they have given me £9.04 interest. I am confused as to where the 'account closed' date has come in as the credit card account is still very much active - I still use this card. The PPI was cancelled on it in 2005.
Can anyone help me with this? I don't understand why there would be an account closed date on an account that is still active. At best I thought this would be the date the PPI was cancelled. Any ideas?

I feel like giving up,I have phoned on numerous occasions so far at a cost of £39 (Halifax not bothered) only to be told exactly nothing.Today on the phone I was told forget getting anything before Xmas. When I asked what had happened to my Credit Card claim there was silence........"oh dear I will have to E-Mail that dept" (again),so nothing has happened in 8 months .Would they wait 8 months for us to pay back owed money ? Can anyone beat this ,also any advice is very welcome thanks0 -
Well, after my letter dated 18 November, stating i'd get paid no more than 30 days later, and with Interest calculated to 16 December.... i have only received 1 of 2 cheques expected.... the smaller of the two.
So, called them up this afternoon, only to be told that they're "escalating" my complaint due to the non-payment, and this may well take up to 28 days !!! But they'll recalculate the interest i'm due.
Now a question related to this.... what value(s) will they use to calculate the additional interest for the extra 28 days ? is it based the entire outstanding amount, or just the quoted "interest at 8%" and would it be another 8% ? This is just so i can get an idea of how large/small this extra 1 month interest is likely to be.
And I guess the extra interest will have to be declared to the tax man, just as i've already done on the interest quoted on my 18 November letter.0 -

Hi
I have a question which may be a silly onecan anyone help
I bank with Halifax and have a credit card with them with is 4,500 in arrears and I am paying off to a debt managment company. A while ago I applied for a ppi refund from Haifax and on the 1st december I recieved a letter saying they would send me £918 redress which they refunded onto my credit card the same day (which I didn't realise for a week ,as I have not used it for 2 years !) When I knew what they had done I rang up and requested a cheque which I recieved on thursday
My question is ... If I pay cheque into Halifax account can the debt management company or anyone else have access to it ?! Which 4 kids and money problems I would like to choose who I pay with the money and how big a portion I would give to each0 -

I have to phone them tomorrow if it has not arrived, so that they can issue another letter.
Recived my cheque on 23rd December. Never did get the acceptance letter they said they sent me, but received the cheque after 12 weeks of them receiving my claim.

Hi I requested my ppi back on a loan and cc on the 5/12/2011... I received a letter confirming that they have received my complaint! It says something about they have yet to make the decision on my complaint! As anyone had this letter if so how long did you have to wait to get an acceptance letter?
Thanks!!0
