Halifax PPI redress Payments

Hi just wanted to share my story with you all.
I registered a PPI mortgage complaint with the Halifax in June this year. They took the full 16 weeks to respond with no information during this time. On the 7th October i receieved an offer letter and duly accepted and returned this. The Halifax confirmed they had received my acceptance on 14th October. Then i have waited and waited and waited.
I have made so many calls i have lost count, the call centre staff are rude, uncaring and do not seem to give a dam.
Finally on the 24th November i was told all backlogs would be cleared by 15th December at the latest. I rang twice more to confirm this date with them.
Then this week i rang again for an update only to be told that no i was not one of the ones that the 15th December applied to but i should have recieved my money within 30 days of offer !!!!!!!
This meant that my case needed referring to a manager but no further timescales could be given. What a joke !!!!!
After 2 more emotional phones calls i have found out today that my payment has been authorised and sent to the cashiers for a cheque to be organised. A step in the right direction but who knows how long that will take!!!!!
This whole episode has driven me to the point of despair. I have banked with the Halifax for over 20 years but not any more. There is no way i am re investing a penny of this money ( when i get it) back with the Halifax.
but my message to you all is do not give, keep ringing and pestering and hopefully we will all get the in the end0 -

I made a claim for Halifax Mortgage PPI on 29th September and have been waiting over 10 weeks and still not had a response. I have phoned them twice but am reluctant to phone again in case they think I am pestering them.
Just want to know if my claim is being upheld.
I made one call to Halifax in May and they identified all my loans, CCs and mortgage PPi. I sent back my acceptance forms which they received on 3/9/11. For the mortgage I hung on as I had issues with what the unemployment cover covered. I finally sent this back which they received on 15/11/11. They have told me it will be in the account I denoted by the 15/12/11.
Don't worry about pestering them. I have called them maybe 10 times in total but it's their own fault isn't it?
Do you call the 01977 627276 number? This mortgage calculation department is 'seperate' from the 0845 number and they seem not to liaise with each other.0 -

Thanks. I have been phoning the 0845 number.0 -

I just phoned Halifax and my mortgage PPI claim has been upheld :j. Have been told that a letter was sent two days ago (obviously not received it yet) and once I accept I will receive a cheque within 30 days, however we all know that they are not the quickest at paying out.

.
Hi
Have you had your letter yet? My mum still has not heard anything from her claim as yet.
Thank you0 -
Got home to an awesome haul of post! Not only had my copy of Alice: Madness Returns on PS3 arrived from Play, but I had two envelopes...
One was handwritten (!) and contained a photocopied (!!) standard letter, plus my cheque for just shy of £3k for the PPi on my loan.
The other envelope was a more official letter saying that thHFX had made an error in calculations on one of the credit cards I was claiming on. Rather than the £2.05 of the original offer, the revised amount is £1430! All because I questioned the amount on the phone when I last spoke to HFX and was told the amounts that were on my letter! :j:eek: :rotfl:
Good luck to everyone who still has claims being processed.~cherie0 -

Thank you
I phoned them yesterday and they said they posted my letter last Wednesday by 2nd class post, however since when does it take 7 days for a letter to arrive 2nd class  ?
I have to phone them tomorrow if it has not arrived, so that they can issue another letter.0 -
Complaint sent - 21/09/11
Acknowledgement - 13/10/11
Upheld and calculations - 07/12/11
Cheque arrived today - 14/12/11
I have had my loan since 2001, which I defaulted on and am paying back through CCCS. I sent my PPI complaint in, haven't chased them up at all and received a letter with calcualations in it dated the 07/12/11.
The letter stated if I am happy with the amount (£2014.14) I didn't have to do anything and my cheque arrived today!! I didn't have to send an acceptance at all.
Also they have knocked approx £150 off the outstanding loan.
I am really pleased with this and am going to the bank first thing tomorrow! Really they should have cleared my loan balance but I will be using all the money to clear this and other debts anyway.
Thanks to MSE for the easy step by step guide :A
Also thanks to MSE I have claimed back £337 in Credit Card charges.
This all makes a big whole in my debt!Car loan £8105.35 57/60 payments left of £141.80 per month
Loan £6687.23 55/58 payments left of £165 per month
Nationwide £1183 (0% interest until 02/2026)
Total debt £15975.480 -
Halifax were due to pay my refund yesterday. Despite my calls and the 'escalation' of my case the new line today is that it could take a further 28 days to pay because of the backlog. Another excuse with no real reasons given.
SHAMBLES0 -
Draved same here. payment date was yesterday was told they couldnt escalate until Monday so another 28 days wait here as well
Im wondering if its because its only £500. As altogether myself and hubby have received approx 18K and this is taking by far the longest amount to receive but any extra interest would be minimal compared to amounts over £1k - £2k?
Yay 1st wins in Cars Big Mack Race Track 40.99 Skinny Sams Tights - 4.950
