Still waiting for payment on mortgage PPi to be issued. After further escalations, excuses etc they still can't give me specific dates. I have new figures but I've been here before.

Considering that they were due to pay by the 15th Dec they really have strung this along.

You should think yourself lucky you are with Halifax. With most others, your complaint is statistically more likely to be rejected (we dont know you reason for complaint but MPPI has a far lower success rate). Halifax are auto upholding whether you have grounds for complaint or not. So, whilst they are slow, you will get the money, even if you were not mis-sold to.

  • i sent my original complaint letter on the 3rd June last year, had response to let us know they would look in to our claim, had another letter advising yes we could claim and the calcualtions on how they would work it out......october came and still nothing so lots of phone calls to be told they had backlogs and to be patiend but that the cheque department was all on time with their work so could possibly receive the cheque before a final amount letter..... got final amount letter dated 21st November and advised takes further 30 days to issue a cheque... kept ringing to see if it had been posted to then be told probably wont receive before xmas as they have until the 22nd december to issue this and then post over the xmas period.

rang again 3rd jaunary to be told "oh im ever so sorry for some reason your cheque hasnt been issued" they escalated this and would be high priority to get this cheque sent asap. rang everyday since then to be told still no response to the email sent 3rd Jan, another email was then sent 10th Jan as i told them they now owe more interest, got told be about a week to reply....

been told today that apparently after a complaint is escalated they get 28 days to issue my cheque and no need for me to ring unless i havent received a few days after 1st. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! they had 30 days to print a cheque. why should they be allowed another 28 now???? its even more annoying when you first ring and the automated line tells you complaints can take up to 12 weeks and a further 30 days to receive payment. 7 months later and still nothing. Halifax are a joke. best thing to do is to try not to expect your money anytime soon as they are not wanting to part with OUR money.

We got our letter on 12 October saying our claim was accepted. Interest calculated to 8th November. Today, after god knows how many calls being fobbed of with 30 days to disptach, then (after 30 days) 28 days to dispatch, many obvious lies of being escalated (had that done 3 times!) and passed to many many departments and going through the processes, being told we could not speak to anyone regarding this and being totally ignored when asked for someone to contact us, we are still waiting. We even contacted the Ombudsmans Office to be told that if we lodge a complaint it will take at least 8 weeks and during this time, the Halifax will not issue anything until the complaint is dealt with! So basically screwed at every turn and at their mercy. If this was the other way round and we owed them, how many 30/28 days, processing etc would they allow us? Doubt we'd get much time before the court papers started arriving.

But, surely they have to add on extra interest to take into account the (so far) additional 3 months it has taken them to (not) print these cheques? If so, does that not make it false economy to withhold payment? Surely swift payouts costs less in terms of increased intersest repaid.
  • This is basically the same as my case. My letter was sent to me on 19th October. I have phoned on a weekly basis only to be told my case is an utmost priority to them! Doesn't feel like it at this point.

I have written a letter of complaint to the general complaints department but have had no word back as yet.

  • My Husband received his offer letter 24th January and received his cheque on 30th January. So really fast turnover! Still waiting for mine though! :T

    [14th December]
...the HFX had made an error in calculations on one of the credit cards I was claiming on. Rather than the £2.05 of the original offer, the revised amount is £1430! All because I questioned the amount on the phone when I last spoke to HFX and was told the amounts that were on my letter!
Well, I still haven't had a cheque for the revised amount. :(

The letter with the revised amount was dated 5th December, and the interest calculated up to 27th December. I spoke to them on Monday, and was told that the cheque for the original £2.05 was raised, and obviously had to be cancelled, but the replacement hasn't been issued yet. The guy I spoke to (Sean) has e-mailed the management and repayments team, (I could hear him typing while I was on the phone to him) as it's gone over their 30 days guidelines. Apparently it should get sorted out within the next 28 days... but Sean said it should hopefully be sooner.

I will be ringing them again on Monday...

Have rang them twice since the last post, and despite it being 'escalated', there still hasn't been a cheque raised. :(

  • Does anyone have a contact for CEO at the Halifax? I'm sick to death making useless phone calls with the usual blah that comes down the line.

I also found out that when you're 'escalated' it means that the operator taking your call emails the 'department' to inform them you are still awaiting payment. Duh, I think they know that already. It's all total and utter nonsence and time wasting.

Thanks to anyone who can help.
