    Hi all
Got home today to find cheque from Halifax for £1200 waiting for me. I am sure I would still be in the queue if wasn't for Nerys so I will call her tomorrow to thank her.
Keep chipping away and eventually they will crack.

    Garry

    Great news - well done!

Can you just advise when you made your complaint?

Also how did Nerys get involved??

Hopefully, maybe, perhaps I may be getting somewhere! I spoke to nerys again on Wednesday and got fobbed off again but today logged onto my accounts online and have had a refund into my credit card account, even though I requested repayment into my current account, but hey I'm not complaining! here's hoping my loan redress payment will be following shortly!

    Claim upheld 18th August
Acceptance recived 24th August and scanned on 1st September
Don't be surprised if after a few days you receive a cheque in the post, this happened to us a couple of weeks ago, they made the payment to the card, and after we phoned they said the funds would clear that night, but the card was declined over that weekend, then on the Monday we received the cheque in the mail.
Thanks to all the competition posters.

My acknowledgement letter was dated 5th September 2011. Yesterday I received a letter dated 8th November upholding my complaint (credit card PPI) saying money would be paid onto my card as I'm on DMP with £3k plus outstanding.
This morning I got card statement dated 8th November showing the full credit onto my card and I also received a cheque for the full amount !!!
Do I bank the cheque and hope they don't notice? Surely the worst that can happen is they take it back of my card account?
See my post, probably above this one.
Thanks to all the competition posters.

I've posted on the success thread, plus my signature has been changed had two recent success's one from BoS CC, got about £1600, this was paid to the card first then paid out in a cheque to us a couple of days later, although when we seen it on the CC online statement we phoned customer services and they said it would clear at midnight that night which was a Friday, we had just recently maxed it out(reduced balance) and so we expected it to be paid off and the difference sent by cheque, but we tried to use it that weekend and it declined, so on the Monday getting home from work, low and behold cheque lying in the mail from them, and it was dated the day before we spoke to them on the phone. Very strange.

Last week received upheld letter from Halifax for Mortgage Protection, I then cancelled the cover, and today we received the cheque which was dated 11/11/11. Very quick.

The only thing I wonder is that I see most folks who are still waiting had sent in acceptance forms, where as our letters had calculations on them, and we didn't need to contact them unless we disputed the amounts involved, but even if we had we received the payments before we'd be able to challenge them.

Anyway I hope you all get your payments soon, and we're still waiting on one decision for a secured loan with Halifax as well.
Thanks to all the competition posters.
  • Hi all

I claimed back PPI from Halifax on 19th September, got a letter today telling me they were sending a cheque for 4K, the letter said I didn't need to do anything if I agreed, but everyone else on here seems to have sent acceptance letters back then waited for calculations, then weeks for their payment.

Has anyone else had their offer the same way as me? :j
  • Just saw your post Smitchy73 thanks kind of answers my question :)

    Hiya Katie
Halifax received my acceptance on 3rd September. After getting no joy from the helpline I emailed the CEO and got a call from Nerys the next day. Even with her involved it took best part of another 4 weeks and another email to the CEO to get my money.

  • Well I have had a phone call this morning to say my calculations are done and a letter is in the post. After 4 emails to CEO the last one last Friday telling them I am refusing to pay my loan as I can't afford it bla bla a lady called Helen phoned to say she would get on to them strait away to sort it for me :) so pleading poverty has proved to work for me :) I am now £3500 richer xx

I got a call this morning stating that a letter was sent last night and my calculations were for nearly £700. I was also on 5th September when Halifax had my acceptance letter returned to them. Said I would get my cheque before 12th Dec as thats when the intrest was calculated until.

:j It will see me through December and xmas until I find another job so I have had a weight lifted off of my shoulders :j

Calling the lovely Nerys every week and have been told that my claim on loan PPI is moving a little in that statements have been ordered from Archive last week so at least someone is looking at my case. My claim for credit card PPI however remains in the queue.

Getting there very very slowly but at least its something. :)
