  • hi all

update on my wifes claim. they offered a goodwill gesture in the region of £400 that never turned up. ignored further letters so mcol. got a cheque for £750ish no letter so not sure what this represents. they must either be snowed under or not have a clue what there doing. looks like it will end up in court unless they pay the remaining £500 odd soon.

Just to let you all know of a success story with MBNA - I asked for £328.62 with interest calculated and the actual charges totalled £240. I was sent a cheque for £260 which I accepted last month, so keep on if you are getting disheartened - they do pay out. Can't say the same for Crapital One or Halifax though. I'm sure you can all guess what they've been rechristened...
  • Another MBNA update about the OH's MBNA cc , almost two weeks since getting my reply she got hers.

    Asked for £827 back
    1st goodwill gesture £321
    Sent LBA , 2nd goodwill gesture £500 , total £821, close enough.

    thanks to all.
Now to chase up Sainsburys CC.

  • Hi all i have 2 closed credit card accounts with MBNA and wasn't sure how many fees i had actually incurred in the past so i wrote to them asking for my statements. I've had a reply for both, one offering £28.00 and the other £36. Looking at the statements it seems that i wasn't ever charged a great deal as they had refunded most of them at the time which i cannot remember happening. This info they have given me will definately be correct wouldn't it???? I know i'm not as lucky as some claiming back thousands but every little helps. Do i accept these amall amounts or claim further for the the extra? Please help :)

My husband has just made a repayment plan with MBNA to pay back his £10,000 credit card. My question is if he claims back all his charges can they call the whole amount back immediately?

  • Hi, Just a quick update with infuriating MBNA!! I got my letter as promised from them only to tell me that the investigations into my complaint is taking longer and I will get a reply by 11th December! How annoying. With my complaint basically asking for compensation of interest added due to incorrect information given and a list of charges sent together, can I chase up the charges without it affecting the complaint?? In short, I want them to close the account!

  • Hi, a little advice appreciated please.

I have claimed £1321.08 off MBNA and they've sent me the standard letter with the offer less the £12.00 fee's offering £467.00 and they say they will send me a chq. within the next ten working days.

    Questions:

    A. Do I have to send them a letter stating "without prejudice" that I accept this initial offer although I'm going for the full amount?

    B. Can I just go ahead with my MCOL without notifying them I'm going to do so?

    C. do I apply for the full £1321.08 notifying MCOL that they have already paid me £467.00?

    C. Has anybody actually received an offer payment within the ten working days?

    Thanks
