Hello!
I received a goodwill gesture from MBNA (Virgin Money) yesterday. They've already gone through and credited £417 onto my card.Which is nice, but leaves £692 of my original claim up in the air.
I've contacted the Ombudsman who have set up a complaint, but they mentioned that I need a "final offer" letter before I can go through them, as opposed to the "goodwill offer" I currently have.
I'm looking to write back to MBNA accepting the payment as PARTIAL payment, and advising them to either repay the remaining amount or I will contact the Ombudsman. Will this be enough?0 -
Hi,
I am in the process of claiming back 1100 from MBNA. I have received a good will gesture for £600. I am about to write them a letter accepting as partial payment with no prejudice etc. I am going to say I will reclaim the rest in court but do I include interest in the amount that I'm claiming for, if so do I include interest on the remainder of the claim or the whole amount I was claiming for as I didn't mention anything about interest in my initial letter.
Good advice would be much appreciated.

Hi,
Brief history.....I had 5 cc's, got into trouble with all of them, went to CCCS for help (paying cc's through them), in the meantime, most of the cc's have gone to debt collection agencies. Whilst all of this has been going on, my husband and I have moved back in with my mum (a lifeline - as we were drowning in debt!!!!). Most things have either been thrown, or are packed in boxes in the garage. And as a concequence, I do not know my cc numbers - can I call up my ex creditors for the numbers?
Now, my questions are. I owed MBNA and Abbey CC (MBNA). Do I need to send 2 X £10.00 cheques (as both letters are going to MBNA).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Debts at the start of my journey - about £23,000 lightbulb moment 01.03.2007 (1st payment to CCCS)..Debt Free Date 25.06.2013 Deposit savings £17,000/£30,0000 -
Where have all the MBNA fighters gone?? I will update anyway. I had a reply today saying that I will receive a reply from them by 11th November. I also included a formal complaint with my charges so I am hoping that this means they will respond to both!
How is everyone else doing?LBM: March, 2005

hi jilly
I claimed 1145 plus interest. After taking there first 'goodwill' gesture of £569 as part payment only, they wrote to me last week offering me the other £576!! winner!!
keep going, so far mbna and barclaycard just rolled over, but have had to take abbey and egg to court  .
keep going!
hopeneeded xx
ps... why would you give someone £1145 as 'goodwill', after they closed their account 3 years ago!!! hmmm...somehow i don't think they wanted to give it over willingly!! lol:T :T :T :T0
