    Hi there,

A litle while back I fell into financial difficulty as was missing payments on both a MBNA and a virgin card. The fee which I was recieving for both late and over limit fee were the £12. Is it possible to clain this back at all? Or is it a waste of time trying? Thanks

Yes to the first question, no to the second

just a quick bump - do the mbna have a record of defending themselves in court? i've sent off the second letter after a fob off responce to my first one and they've got about 4 days left until the 14 day deadline i imposed (i'll probably give them a day or two leeway for the bank hols though) and i'll be filing court docs by the end of next week.

    cheers.
I would wait your hurry, they have just taken about a month from my 2nd letter to respond but i got everything i claimed - charges - interest on charges, 8% interest on the charges and 8% interest on the interest on the charges
Charges £759 Claimed and received £1360
  • sorry to go off tangent, but does anyone else struggle with understanding the statements online. They don't seem to make any sense to me. What I owe seems to go up with no evidence of the new expenses on their lists.
  • Hi All,

I've received a summary of charges (not statements) from MBNA but am suspicious that I've not received them all. There was one £25 charge followed by lots of £12 charges (approx 2 x £12 each month for a year). I find it highly unlikely that I started paying late and going over my credit limit the second they brought their charges down! Has anyone else thought this may have been the case with their charges request?

    Thanks
