Hmm conflicting advice. I just want to do whatever will stand me more chance of getting the full amount back. And I don't want to do anything that will mean I don't even get the £175 - measly offer that it is, it's better than a slap in the face I guess.0 -
Dont know if im on the right thread but here goes anyway.
Posted martins 1st letter to mbna asking for my statements along with a cheque for £10.00. Recieved a letter today from them saying that "The Relationship they had with my former army regiment ( ie Regimental credit card) has now ended. The decision means they are now no longer able to provide any details on this account." My last payment to them was only 2 yrs ago, but they said they will transfer me to another account ( no thanks).
They also kept the cheque///now what :mad:0 -
Thank you

Wait. cash the cheque when it arrives and write back to them accepting the cheque as a partial payment. tell them you are quite happy to go to ombudsman/court for the remainder. You will get paid ( I did it and got the rest within the month!)
Ive got the second letter from A&L arrived yesterday - A&L are run by MBNA too, so Im feeling quite confident that the same approach will get me the rest of the money from them too....
good luck !!!Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
Hi there! What a brilliant site!
This is my first post
I've just sent a letter to MBNA asking for details of all penalties and charges taken from me for the duration of my account with them. They stitched me up good and proper when their charges took me over my agreed limit
I have now repaid that account (a few weeks ago) and it is closed; can I still reclaim the charges they took from me?

Yes you can, I've done the same.
I'm still waiting for a reply to Martin's first template letter, after they ignored my first letter asking for a list of charges. I am missing some statements, but can't afford the £10 charge each time to request statements, so I'm claiming for the charges I know about now and then I will claim for the charges on the missing statements when I receive them.0 -
I submitted Martin's first template letter to MBNA/Virgin Credit Card earlier this month requesting around £500 of charges including interest.
I got a letter from them today saying that they are currently invstigating my complaint and will provide me with a full response by 16th December.
Should I give them until then to respond or should I send the second template letter?
What sort of response should I expect if I leave it until the 16th? A fob off letter or a partial/full offer?0 -
Anyone got any idea?0
-
Do I just leave it and wait for them to 'investigate'?0
