MBNA credit cards (merged)

Keep posting Knackered. We are reading. I want to claim for mine and OH's 3 MBNA cards (balances totalling £17k). I've looked at my past statements and they have credited us with some of the charges just by us asking for them. I know they are horrible to deal with and cause me sooooo much stress. We are in the process of making a payment plan with them and they just don't get it that we cannot pay the amounts they are asking for. Also, they keep playing bad cop/good cop - they threaten to sell off the debt one day then write to say 'we really want to help you' blah blah blah.
Sorry for the rant but do let us know how you get on cause it makes me feel better knowing that I'm not the only one out here who has problems with them. Good luck.

MBNA were complete a***holes when I owed them money, constantly hassling me and threatening me with court action/ bailiffs etc.
Now the shoe is on the other foot and I fail to see why I - or any of us - should show them any mercy.
In any case, they've got until 4th Sept to reply to my MCOL application. To be honest I wouldn't be too bothered if it did go to court as it would net me an extra £200 holiday money!
Frances, did you get your court fees back or just what they still owed you?0 -
MBNA have been by far the worst when it comes to hassling and threatening. I agree - no mercy should be shown.

Hi ppl
i cliamed against mbna and got it all back although i had to file a court claim. The day i got my court papers I got a cheque off them for the rest of the money they owed me.
But on the 14th August i received another letter saying that further to my complaint they are sending a cheque for £498 as a goodwill gesture. But they dont actually owe me this money. They must know they've paid me.
Has anyone else has this experience and are do they now have to pay me this money. They said ten working days from date of this letter and its now on the eleventh day, should i ring them or wait a bit longer and see what they say.0 -
Well! They've got until tomorrow (4th Sept) to reply then it's game over time! If they don't respond do I just go straight ahead with The Judgement side of things and claim everything?
Am I more likely to have them defend the claim at the last second and send the cheque for what they owe me?
Why do they leave it so late if they intend to pay up?0 -
Can I start The Judgement tomorrow or is it a case of giving them 14 FULL days to respond - in other words I wouldn't be able to start The Judgement until Wednesday if I didn't hear from them....?0
