  • Hi

MBNA have sent me a cheque for £334 'goodwill payment'. Ive written to them today giving them 7 days to pay the balance or I go to court. Hopefully this will enocurage them to pay the remianing £440 + interest.

Ive succeeded with Mint, Halifax and Lloyds so heres hoping!

  • I've had a wee search of the forums, and whilst i intend writing back to them to ask what it ACTUALLY means, i thought I'd post here too to see if anyone has had this paragraph before, and can explain it to me :-)

(ps these are not MY typing mistakes - I am typing verbatim from the letter itself)
"We do value your custom and so we would like to reslove this matter. i have therefore arranged for a goodwill payment of £250o be credited to your account on the basis that this is in full and final settlement of your complaint. We will then arrange for a cheque to be sent to you within 10 working days for the full credit ba;ance"

I've claimed £605 (including interest) so does this mean - they will credit £250.00 to my card then send the £455 by cheque? Or does it mean they will pay the £250 into my account, then send me a cheque for £250 ( then being my credit balance) within 10 working days, or something else entirely..... ?

    Anyone any ideas?? :-)

I requested my statements from MBNA on 23 April. I received a reply saying that I would be provided with a full response by 21 May. prepared to wait the full 8 weeks I was about to contact them when today I noticed on my statement that they have credited my account with £250. I rang thier customer services who said that a letter had been sent to me on the 21 May - I never received it - and that they were the total chargeson my account and they were refunding them. I thought there was more but without the statements how can I check. Has anyone else had this experience with MBNA. Any advice appreciated, Thanks.

I would just treat that refund as part payment and chase them up for statements to request rest of refund

Phoned MBNA to cancel my PPI as I wrote to them in March requesting for the cancellation of my PPI and a list of charges in the last 6 years my letter was dated 30 March but they got the letter on the 2nd April, to cancel it.

On my April and May statements I have still being charged. I spoke to the insurance dept today and they said that I would still get charged 30 days after they received my letter. I disagree  that means that I have been charged the full amount for 10 days cover on my May's statement.

I also still have not made a decision on my charges. My chargers came to £225 and they have offered me £125.
I have just checked my on line statement to see if my Julys statement I will get charged PPI but its not ready yet but they have refunded me £125. I can only think that they have put the goodwill gesture onto my credit card even though I would of liked it in a cheque.

Has anyone else had anything like this when you have tried to claim back PPI and also what would be the next step if I don't agree with the offer they have given me for my charges.

Is there anywhere that has a template letter for an offer that I have received for my credit card. I am not very good in writing letters.

I have requested my MBNA charges back of £225 and they have offered me £120.

    Any help would be great

    Thanks
