As HSBC are your card issuer they're the ones you go after.

Have no fear you've got it right.
Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.

you can write and accept as 'part settlement only' and continue to press for the rest via court if need be. read the advice from martin Lewis and also if u track back on this thread you will see that many have successfully got their full refunds but only after persisting with their claims and sticking to the procedures on this site. Good luck!

    Hi all,

I need some advice on a claim for £629.80 against MBNA.

I sent the second letter threating court action exactly 14 days ago and was about do MCOL today but this morning I received a letter from them advising "I have therefore arranged for a goodwill payment of £280, to be credited to your account on the basis that this is in full and final settlement of your complaint"

I still intend doing MCOL but I have two questions:

    1. Do I claim the balance of what they owe me or do I still claim the full amount?
    2. Do I need to advise them that I am accepting the goodwill gesture as part payment but still intend to claim the balance? If so is there a letter template for this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Ralfc.
