Hi,
have claimed back from MBNA, and they have offered a goodwill gesture, which I have decided to accept. (Only due to car breaking down and needing the cash badly)!!
I received the "gesture "on the 3rd May and telephoned to say that I accept and rather than put the money onto my card (only a balance of £100 outstanding and have not used the card for years) could they please send a cheque. The department that I initally get through to cant deal with the complaint and so they have to e-mail it through to the correct team. This was e-mailed to "the team" and I have not heard anything back, I have called every day chasing this matter up, to be told that someone will contact me within 24 hours (they never do) I have called now about 6 or 7 times and when I ask to speak to someone in this "team" I am told you cant, and the department that I am speaking to will have to e-mail them. Feel like I am going round in circles. I just want my money.
I feel like I am getting nowhere, I want to now put it in writing but dont have a clue what to say, has anyone been through anything simlar or has anyone got any ideas on what I could write to get them to give me my money.

Claiming £505 plus £101 interest from MBNA,had a letter today offering "goodwill gesture " of £250, declined this and decided to go for the whole lot purely because of the stress and upset they caused by their charges, starting court action tomorrow, but after hearing about the recent court ruling ,am i doing the right thing0

Hi just thought i would post this to encourage anyone in two minds to take on MBNA to go for it
Started the claim in mid march
received goodwill letter offer of £200 on 30 April
received cheque for £200 on 9 May 2007
Submitted MCOL form on 27 April 07
MBNA entered defence on the 15th May
and on the same day they sent me a cheque for the rest of the amount I was claiming.
So £875 better off today
Thanks to everyone on this site :T :money:0 -

I wrote my SAR on the 7th. 40 days up today and so I phoned them to be "promised" them by Monday. We'll see eh?
One thing that does appear frustrating is the five weeks the Information Comissioner seems to need to investigate any complaint of withholding this information. Do you copy MBNA on your correspondence with the IC? This might stir them into action, matbe?0 -
monday started court proceedings against MBNA,after refusing a goodwill gesture of £260, this morning received a cheque from them for the £260,saying " i hope this has been resolved to your satisfaction" Do i bank the cheque,as part payment or return it saying you are going to court ???????0

Hi, I am a tad concerned, just wondered if anyone can put my mind at rest.
HSBC issued my credit card to me and has HSBC name on the card, and my statements every month are from Canada Square, therefore, i have made a claim against HSBC even though the credit card is supplied by MBNA.( which i only recently discovered in the small print on the Terms Agreement) I am waiting for a court date now. Should i have made the claim againtst MBNA? Will it make any difference since HSBC are defending the claim?
Thankyou,.0
