MBNA credit cards (merged)

Did you use MBNA's website to pay on-line ? if you make a payment before 5pm it states that your account will be credited next day .So if they say its been recieved late ,and you paid it before 5pm then it's their fault and not yours .Id tell them that if they won't refund the charge then you'll transfer the balance to another card and close the account0

I don't usually pay it before 5pm but I usually have a few days in hand before payment - I will have to have a look and see what I can find out!!0

Hi, I have claimed £512 in charges from Abbey crecit card (managed by MBNA). I sent my letter claiming this amount on 16/3/07. I have had no reply to date. I was concerned that the address I had used was wrong, so I rang them to query the address. As they asked for my account details at the start of the call, when I asked about the address and explained why I needed it the call centre operative told me that my complaint was only logged on their system yesterday (4/4/07). I will be sending the LBA today anyway - but I now understand that the complaints address is PO Box 1004, Chester Business Park Chester and not PO Box 30, as I had previously used.0

I wrote a letter to MBNA EBL requesting that they repay all default charges etc (£430) plus the interest the courts would award if i was to take them to court (£67.23) so in total £497.23.
Yesterday i recieved a letter from them saying that as a gesture of goodwill they have arranged for a payment of £190 to be credited to my account (which they have done) and they also say that they disagree with the OFT's interpretation of the law and continues to maintain that their default charges have always been fair! haha yeah right.
So basicaly I wondering if the experts in this subject think i've got a good deal or not? and if i try to ask for the whole amount again is it likely they will refuse?
Many thanks for your time

standard practice hoping you will give up.. Write back saying you will accept as part payment for the full claim and will continue on to the small claims court if necessery. Also send a revised schedule of charges with the £190 taken off.
Don't let them fob you off until you have recieved the full amount.

Further to my original postb in mid march I have now received £1421 from MBNA which includes all charges, interest and court fees. It was offered to me on the phone on the last day before I could apply for a judgement in default from MCOL. The guy on the phone was very pleasant and matter of fact about the whole thing and even seemed a bit relieved when I said I would accept the payment and mark the claim as settled once the cheque cleared. Now on with the rest of my claims against all the others up to a total of just over £7000!
To all of you who might be having any doubts I say stick with it. But do get a move on.0 -
