  • Youse are not being very helpfull just trying to mock me about my spelling mistakes .Last year i booked a holiday in a shop and was allowed 20kilos this year i booked in the same shop and they never gave me any warning that the was a different flight change and adifferent baggage allownace.I didnt even weigh my bags but was sure its not heavyier and it wasunt more than 20kilos . I have a valid point i think and i cannot still see in theroy why fat people do not get charged more than slim peolpe or we shuld get allowed to take more luggage (but not too much where it hurts the baggage workers)In theroy a fat woman with false legs in a wheelchair and a young child in a pram wood get the same amount as me with a small case weighing 15kilos. Iam not bieng symperthetic with this lady but i feel i have been robbed and discriminated by my size. Next time i will take my farthers oxegen machine that weighs 3kilos into my case that weighs 22kilos and see what the desk says(will they take it out and weigh it NO)

  • Or you could have taken a few things out of your case and worn them instead?

Why is this a question it has a question mark . My spelling isnt good and youse are just as bad

More importantly is a false leg deemed as luggage?
my point exactly does a person be allowed to take lots of stuff away if they are "need it" without paying and does a person with metal legs pay for more weight if they have a wheelchair too ? probabley not.:mad: who is already overweight. I have found out i was overweight but not by much and i "needed my things"

Stop moaning, it's the same rule for everyone. If you don't want to pay excess baggage don't be over the limit, simple.

When used in this context it is called a question tag, it turns a statement into a question in the same way as rising intonation at the end of a sentence would with speech.
  • Hi Sparkie
Do yourself a favour mate and type your posts in word and proof reed them for spelling before you post. You do have an argument here; unfortunately some cannot see past your poor grammar and recognise it.
Not saying that I agree with it, but it is a valid argument.

So you just assumed you had the same baggage allowance as last year without checking? Your baggage allowance is clearly stated on your flight ticket and you should have checked it. Different airlines have different allowances so you can never assume.

You also say you didn't weigh your baggage. You should invest in a set of luggage scales for any future travel as they will pay for themselves many times over with the saving on excess baggage.
  • Let me get this right, you have travellled more than once yet you assumed you would get the same baggage allowance just because you booked in the same shop?????????????

We always weigh our baggage and check what it weighs on the baggage scales we take with us (not entirely accurate but useful as a guide), then we know what we can buy while we are there.

You would have to live in a bubble to avoid knowing that you will be charge excess baggage fees if your bags weigh too much. It is also worth remembering that if you are VERY NICE to the check-in operators then they can waive or reduce the fees. That was hardly likely after your rant, you are lucky that you did not get charged extra!!

Next time check the allowances, weigh your bags, and wear everything that is heavy!

Another point, I seem to recall something about an airline threatening to charge by weight some time back (maybe years) and there was an absolute outcry from the various lobbies about being prejudiced against fat people so it was dropped.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

Don t do this cos if you do mate you will not be allowed on the flight at all... You will be locked up in case they think you re going to blow up the plane.... This will probably be a worse holiday experience than having to pay the legitimate charge this time

The last time I went to Cyprus we had a group of girls behind us and one was terrified she would be charged extra weight costs... My partner said look we ll sort it ... took her bag to an un used check in desk, weighed it and said your right... open your case and lets take out some heavy things, like your shoes and hairdryer... put them in your hand baggage and everything will be fine. Case opened, lets just say she packed in a hurry , we got a few items out but we could nt fit much more into her hand baggage she had a full size steam iron in there... Why can t people travel light!
