Hi, I dont really follow you? As mentioned previousely, the TalkTalk rep can do very little here, other than refer you to the TalkTalk forum. I am not sure if you have used the forum before, but it is much better than CS support on the telephone, give them a try, post your grievances and see what happons

    Its quite simple really

"who then tell you to phone an 0871 number cos they can't answer the question or don't have access to the correct system."

The staff on that forum don't have access to a lot of systems and for even easy requests tell you to phone 0871.
the rep tells us this is due to the companies own Data Protection Policy.

I guess the members TT forum is really busy, she last posted on 30th June

talktalk are in constant breach of this act (and they know it), inparticular

4 Personal data shall be accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date.
(hands up all the people who have had there contract dates changed, which is a total breach). Hopefully talktalk are proactively finding those individual records .
6 Personal data shall be processed in accordance with the rights of data subjects under this Act.
(that includes the right to refuse marketing)

some of the TalkTalk contact numbers are 0870, but as most of these numbers are connected to TalkTalk HQ they are free to use when contacting TalkTalk. If like me, you are worried about the cost of calls to talktalk, simply dial 150 from your talktalk housephone.

In regards to your other problems, i cant say anything different than said before. If you just want to rant and rave on this thread, that is fine, if you want an issue to be address TalkTalk are the best to deal with it, and I must say again there members forum is good.

sorry but that is just not true.
as a phone & broadband supplier, O2 are far, far better.
for broadband only BeThere (yes it's the same company as O2) or a lot of the small suppliers.
talktalk agreed to let me leave them. they also agreed they would not levy any charges. then they took £130 from my account. then they put it in writing that they had cancelled the charges. a few months later, they had still not refunded my money, they sent me another bill for £130. another moan from me, another cancelled bill. that was last week so i'm currently still waiting for my refund ... and a promised customer satisfaction survey!
I must say again there members forum is good.
i take it you are a stand-up comedian by profession.
common sense dictates that they are, or certainly should be, far more concerned what is said about them in a public forum than one that is restricted to their dis-satisfied customer base.
Switzerland has Dignitasthe UK has DCA's, Bankers and Lawyers.
  • p.s.

i have just received an email from TalkTalk which includes the following:
(at the end of last week they had asked me how i wanted the refund and i replied with my bank details)

"With regards to the credit I can assure you that credit of £132.04 was passed to you by cheque. This cheque will arrive within the next 28 days."

well, if talktalk are not the best people to contact regarding a talktalk issue who do you think a talktalk customer should contact, o2?

no I am not a stand up comedian, i was suggesting an alternative to help as that is what moneysavingexpert is for. As for commen sense, I will plead the 5th amendment on that one

obviously, i am not suggesting contacting O2 for a TalkTalk problem, clearly that's just being silly.

however, i repeat, TalkTalk are NOT the best telco or isp to deal with - others are far better.

My gran was pressured into joining TalkTalk by a door to door salesman. TT screwed up the billing and wants to leave because of the stress they caused. the phone team were useless (and even hung up on my gran at one point) and the online forums wont register her account number/phone number combo as valid.

Im waiting to hear from the webmaster to get us on so I can sort it out for her. But its been 3 days and still nothing.

    AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
