I signed up to TalkTalk on Tuesday. I'm beginning to think I should be stopping the process before it really gets going...0

I am suffering at the hands of TalkTalk.
They installed a new line, now I'm waiting for the the broadband to be installed. The target date has been missed, and I'm now in the "Stuck" category, with no new target date. I basically have to wait indefinately for them to sort their act out.
I posted on the TT Members forum using an old account, but from reading the other posts it basically involves waiting weeks and weeks for this incompetent company to make further attempts and hoping it finally works. So, I've given up and want to cancel.
Can anybody advice me how/when to cancel? i.e. The New phone line is active, can I transfer it to another provider? Or do I need to cancel it completely, and get BT to come and install a new line with a new number?0 -
UPDATE: I've got a response from Emma on the TalkTalk Members forum. I'll give them one last chance... Hopefully the problem can be resolved quickly.0

Just to close off the story, my parents couldn't face any more Talk talk hassle, so they are going to transfer my Grandma's line over to BT.
Thanks everyone for suggestions.0 -

Yes, I've generally found BT customer service to be better (not great but better).
Also seems cheaper for what she wants as line rental and free anytime calls at BT approx same price as talktalk's line rental, evening+weekend calls and broadband (which she doesn't use).
And, of course the line will be in her name!0 -
After speaking to Retentions Dept at TalkTalk after Martins email yesterday I eventually got a £5 credit per month over 6 months (or £30) but it was hard work! Tenacity is the key word here, polite but persistant:j0

Hi all,
I thought I would give a reminder to all talktalk customers, as from today evening calls start at 7pm, and end at 7am inline with BT.
Daytime calls therefore start from 7am till 7pm.
if you get free off peck national calls, they dont kick in till after 7pm. remember the new times to avoid a high billTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0
