Hello Money Saving Experts
I know many of you are talktalk customers, but do not access the talktalk members forum. I have posted the following for your information:
I wanted to let members know, Next week British Telecom will change its peak time calls from 5.4p/min to 5.9p/min and their peak hours will change from 6am-6pm to 7am-7pm.
I have also learned in June TalkTalk will follow suit. I know I have been caught out in the past with information such as the withdrawal of nectar points last summer and the line rental increase from talktalk in January.
Evening calls will start at 7pm with talktalk from June, so if like me you make national calls in the evening, remember to make them after the new time limit.
I hope talktalk will give all customers this information on their website, and provide this information in our bills in April AND May
Here is the TalkTalk members link for further information:

Dont get caught out with a large bill this summer

Talk talk suck. We are desperately trying to get out of their rubbish system; we changed a month ago because their deal seemed best. I had resisted and resisted changing because I feared exactly what has happened; the broadband is slow and rubbish and now our home phone has complketely stopped working. It rings about 20 times a day, once, then stops. You can't get a dial tone, nor receive calls. My husband emailed them about this SIX DAYS AGO and they have just replied wiht some nonsense that just buys them time. My husband just told them to fix it by 5pm tomorrow or the direct debit will be cancelled. Loathe them. Can't believe we went with them over BT.0

Notwithstanding the fact that TT customer service is awful, I have an issue that needs urgent action - but cannot get TT to resolve. An 85 year old pensioner that is dependent on the phone when she is alone. Trouble is a phone fault that developed over a week ago and so far TT haven't resolved. Calls made to the indian CC but not much luck there and with it being an 0871 number she cannot go on filling TT's coffers just to get them to resolve the issue. Can anyone on this most helpful forum give me guidance on how to get this resolved quickly without having to bash heads against walls in response to TT's intransigence. Thanks in advance0

hello doberry, sorry to hear of the phone problem, am I assuming the phone line is completely dead? Its a little concerning that one of talktalk vunrable customers has had no phone for a week, what has customer service told you???
I see you have concerns with the numbers you are using to contact talk talk, i am not sure if you are using a landline or mobile, so I will give you some numbers:
customer service numbers: 020 7181 9966 0207 1819466 0800 0855900
if you want more numbers, please try: https://www.saynoto0870.comTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
trinidadone, thank you for the prompt reply. Yes the phone has been dead for over a week and the 'test socket' has shown that it is the outside line. Unfortunately calls to TT seem to reach some foreign shores and pleas of 'vulnerability' appear to fall on deaf ears. I shall try the numbers you give. One upshot of this is that TT WILL lose three customers since after this experience we have no intention of going near TT again.0

Oh ok, I have not used the numbers personally listed, but as they are far cheaper than the 0871 number your using, i am sure it is worth a bath. Please let us know how you get along. I think also, once the line is up and running, maybe a refund for the 0871 calls should be saught, and perhaps some compensation for the lack of of service.
Not worth asking for this now though, until the line is up and running.
I guess TalkTalk need to get BT Open Reach outTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
Yes I tried the numbers you provided but got me to one tel who said they couldn't help. In the end went through 'saynoto0870' and found a number. Eventually the fault fixed but will not be staying with TT (this now includes the rest of the family - in all 5 connections - who have learnt from this experience!) My biggest gripe is the offshore call centre you get directed to who don't seem to be able to help at all or understand what you are trying to resolve and all while you are paying through the nose for the privilege.
Thanks again Trinidadone0 -

Hi Doberryfirkin,
sorry the numbers were with One Tel, but glad you use the saynoto0870 link. are all five family members still in contract with talktalk? I ask because if you decide to change providers, I think TalkTalk have a £70.00 charge for leaving early. Dont quote me though. Emma might be able to tell you more (she is a TalkTalk representative which comes on from time to time).
Now you are connected, what about a claim for compensation for loss of service?
For your info, a relative recently had connection problems with her talktalk telephone. Her phone was off and on over a few days. She was originally offered 30 pounds (i think thats the highest offered by frontline customer service) the lady rejected the offer and informed talktalk she wanted to join BT, a further offer of free line rental for three moonths was offered, on top of the 30 quid.
I know your not happy still, but let talktalk know, and please let me know how you get on.
I see like me, you are sick of talktalk call centres, you could use their customer support forum online. I have to admit, the level of customer service online is much betterTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0
