Hi Lee,
Looks like you deleted your post from earlier today.
If you contact the forum administrator (Chris) at TTMF he will be able to remove your account. Its my job to post on the forums - both TTMF and on here. You are not being harassed you are being provided with the information you have requested. As this has been provided on one forum it seems silly to re-produce the reply here as well. The address for complaints has also been provided for you on the TalkTalk Members forums. I can provide this by PM for you on here if you like but I don't want to be acused of harassment for supplying the requested information again.
Cheers

Wow! Someone's gone off at the deep end!:p If the complaint was genuine, what's the big worry about having your identifity [sic] comprimised [sic]? What's the big fuss to have your comments deleated [sic] on the talktaslk [sic] forum? Your reaction seems very immature.
Instead of the constant complaints about Talktalk, I feel I must back them up in this case. After a year of complaining privately to myself about the slow broadband speeds, it turns out that it is actually the wiring in my house which is at fault. At the test socket, I get a speed of over 4Meg, but anywhere else it is only 1.7Meg. It took those on the Talktalk forum to diagnose that, although I'm still looking at how to improve on that.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
I am so pleased I am not the only person who has suffered the nightmare of joining Talk Talk. I have been nearly 2 months without access to the internet, dispite over 20 phone calls (9 of which were in one day as I was passed from department to department with each person telling me a different thing!) several promises of call backs which never materialized and several Managers giving me conflicting advice, I have finally been told the problem with my internet is due to me using the incorrect wire, this would be acceptible if I hadnt been using the same wire for the last 8 months with BT and had no problems at all.
I am now going down the route of reclaiming my last months phone bill and some form of compensation for the wasted hours phoning and the disgraceful customer service I have recieved and would just like to warn anyone thinking of taking out a service with Talk Talk please do not be fooled by the offer of a cheap package it has been a complete waste of time and money!
I will post again to let you know how the claim goes, fingers crossed they will redeem themselves by the offer of a refund.0 -
In April this year I received a phone call from Talk Talk sales offering me the new ESSENTIALS package. They said if I switched it would cost an extra 50p/month (from £20.49p to £20.99p) but that I would get free calls to 0870/0845 numbers and a 50% increase in my internet UPLOAD speed. I said I would think about it.
I checked on the Talk Talk website and it appeared I could get free 0845/0870 without switching to the new ESSENTIALS package. So, why pay 50p extra/month when, in all probablility I would also lose free international calls at the end of my existing contract (ESSENTIALS package does not include free international calls - except for exisiting customers switching to the new ESSENTALS package - and then only until the end of their existing contract)
I then received another call from TALK TALK sales asking if I wanted to switch to the new ESSENTIALS package. I was given the same sales talk - a 50p increase in my bill, free calls to 0845/0870 numbers and a 50% increase in internet upload speed. I told the salesperson that I would keep my current tariff.
I did attempt to ghet free 0845/0870 calls on my existing tariff and a Talk Talk representative accepted my order. A week later I received an e-mail rejecting my application for free 0845/0870 calls because I also got my internet from Talk Talk! So, I then signed up online for these free calls and my order was accepted - only to be rejected later for the same reason!
So, I was now forced into the new ESSENTIALS pakage if I want free 0845/0870 calls and attempted to sign up. The person who took my order said I would now have free evening and weekend calls and free locals calls anytime. I said I was already on an ANYTIME plan and wanted that to continue. I thought the ANYTIME BOOST was then added - but it was not!
I have now been billed for calls from 17th May to date and I queried this. They agreed I had requested the ANYTIME boost from 17th May and said they would refund calls made from 17th May to date but would not refund and calls from now until 17th June (the first date they can now add the ANYTIME calls). I made it clear that was unacceptable as it was Talk Talk's fault that the ANYTIME boost was not added.
I am so fedup with Talk Talk now but other telecom's companies are equally as bad and Talk Talk is still the cheapest in my area. The one good thing about Talk Talk is that my internet is more reliable and faster than any other provider I have used - it is only when there is some human intervention at Talk Talk that things go wrong!0 -
Well I joined upto Talktalk when they first started and must say I have been impressed with their service they have provided. I was also one of the first to sign up when the free broadband came out and have never looked back. But a couple of years back we dicided to change to the sky package as it worked out cheaper, or so we thought. But we needed to have a BT line. So phoned BT and asked for just the line no calling package as we were going to go with sky. Got a bill through at the end of the month for over £100. When I looked at it I noticed BT had decided they were taking over the full service and that was the day I realised how much I valued talktalk and how cheap they were. So I contacted BT and demanded to know why they were charging me for calls as I had specifically said I wanted line rental only, to be told that they didn't do line rental only packages. So after a bit of research and a letter with a cheque in it for the line rental I severed all ties with BT. I had told them here is the payment for the line rental which is what I had requested as for the call charges they could go whistle in the wind for those as I had agreed to that and wasn't informed that they would be taking the whole package over. So then a quick call to a lovely understanding lady at talktalk and everything was sorted out. My whole phone and internet package was back at talktalk within the week. She also informed me she would be lodging a complaint with BT and told me to write to OFtel which I did. I have heard nothing since from BT as they haven't chased up the £100 in call charges.
Also when I phoned up talktalk I was annoyed as they had changed the package from what I was originally on. When I signed up originally it was unlimited bandwidth, but had been changed to 40gb a month and the operator was very helpfull and aagreed to put me back onto my old service.
Fair enough I get the odd time where I have to unplug my router as I get dropped connections but that takes a minute to sort out and isn't a big deal. my speeds seem to be fairly constant throughout the whole day and the odd time I have had to call up I have been dealt with in a good manner.
I think a lot of people have problems with the internet due to them using the wrong settings. when I first set it up I was gettign a bad connection, but phoned their broadband helpline and the operator there walked me through the whole process and even tho a lot of it was reading from a script this guy also knew what he was talking about, as he even told me to try several different gateways as the one they are told to use gets very busy due to the offer of free broadband!
So overall I am very pleased with the service I recieved from Talktalk which surprised me with how many people have complained and had nothing but trouble with them.0 -
Hi Guys,
If anyone has ongoing issues please register at https://www.talktalkmembers.com/forums and pop up a post so that my colleagues and I can take a look into them for you.
Paul, the plan changes needed for inclusive 0870/0845 calls were detailed at https://www.talktalk.co.uk/pricechanges. This made it clear that any customer with broadband services needed to change to myTalkTalk Essentials to receive these calls as part of their tariff. The changes were also very well documented on the members forum with accurate answers to customers questoins by TalkTalk staff.
Rebecca, if you can let me know the details of your issues on the members forum I can take a look for you. The reason we ask you to post on the TalkTalk Members forum is account information is needed and verified at the point of registration.
Cheers

I have had lots of problems with talktalk and I'm sorry I decided to stay with the company I am still waiting on a wireless router in fact waited so long I had to buy my own. They changed my call package with my knowledge and now they said they would not change it back. Customer services are a joke I get passed on to different departments all round the world. I can't wait till my contract is finished and I will go back to BT even though it will cost me more money.:TNot going to bury my head in sand any longer

Hi Saucymare,
As I've said in the post above yours if you could register on the TalkTalk forums I'll be able to take a look at whats gone on for you. We have had a recent campaign to promote the newest of our tariffs "myTalkTalk Essentials". As this is now the only tariff we offer in coujunction with broadband it is not possible to revert an account to a legacy tariff once the change has taken place. This is because legacy tariffs are no longer available as plan change options on our systems.
Cheers
