Then again if you're with Talktalk in half the country you won't be able to get to the forum since you ain't got no service at all. Check out the ailing forum and see for yo self what "free" service really means!!0 -
Interesting that IZZZY joined the forums made one post and has never been back since.
You have posted only three times since joining, the last being in July, and only on this particular thread.

We have been on the free broadband, free geographical calls package for over 18 months now (costs £20 month all in), only a couple of glitches with BB at the start, but quite happy with the current package.
Had a call from TT today asking us to sign up to another package, in essence (or as much as they admitted) it sounds like the same package, but at the same time, they said they dont do our current package anymore....im confused!
I basically think that TT know we are not tied into a contract with them any more (18months +) and want to hook us into another contract before we start shopping around, and as they would not commit to explain the differences between what we are getting now, and the new contract they are offering, im suspicious its probably not as good, or more expensive, any advice?0 -
There have been other threads about this and most seem to think you should just stay as you are on a month to month basis.0

My experience was very similar to that of Lindos90 above. A few problems at the start determining who was supplying the line for the internet etc but once we were up and running I haven't add any connection issues at all. Have to say that during my 18 months with them things have run pretty smoothly, but thats probably due to not having to phone the customer support very often lol.0

I had talk talk for 2 years and the telephone side worked fine until I moved house. The house owners where we were moving to were on talk talk and I was told I could transfer my number and package. After around 6 hours of phone calls and being without a landline for 5 weeks in my new house I gave up. Bearing in mind I am a self employed tradesman and all my yearly advertising was on that number I cannot imagine how much business they lost me. Also prior to moving we were without their so called free broadband for 3 months as they could not resolve the problem. The simple answer is "GET A CALL CENTRE IN THE UK"0

Hi Guys,
Sorry to hear some of you are having problems with your TalkTalk service.
I am afraid there are too many comments here for me to go through on a one by one basis in the time I get to post on here - and some posts are quite old. If anyone has an ongoing issue they need assistance with please send me a Private Message with the details and I will do what I can. Alternatively please visit www.talktalkmembers.com/forums and register and account there. We have a designated team of support staff working the forums ready to help.

I had a phone/broadband package with TalkTalk. After a series of problems including inability to access email correspondence, an unreliable broadband connection and problems with billing I decided to switch to another company.
Having read on this site and elsewhere of problems experienced by others in moving to another company from TalkTalk I resolved to be meticulous in adhering to the terms and conditions of my contract in order to ensure a smooth transition. Despite this, my experience was one of continual harassment for non payment for a service which I no longer received. Despite phone calls to a variety of offices throughout the world, emails, and a succession of recorded delivery letters to which I did not receive a response I was still pursued for debt. Bear in mind this was a problem which was clearly due to their negligence and could so easily have been resolved by a company which was in any way competent. Fortunately I had kept a detailed record of all phone calls and correspondence. I was in effect forced to take this issue to Otello but while this matter was being considered by them I received threatening correspondence from a debt collection organisation used by TalkTalk. What I thought was finally an end to the matter was when Otello decided in my favour and required TalkTalk to provide me with an apology, financial compensation, and assurances regarding my credit worthiness. But guess what, some time after I get a letter with the compensation plus the required assurances from TalkTalk I get yet another threatening letter from TalkTalk's debt collector!!
Writing as a person of sixty plus years of age TalkTalk are easily and without a shadow of doubt the very worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. The people I feel for sorry for are those who have not kept good records of their dealings with the company or don't have the time, energy, or ability[such as the very old, and I don't include myself in that category yet!!!] to stand up to the shoddy treatment emanating from this organisation. I'm pretty certain that many in the pursuit of a 'quiet life' or to avoid the stress of embarking on a protracted complaints procedure meekly accept their unjustified demands.0
