My thoughts are,if you`re happy with the service you`ve received from TT,don`t cut your nose off to spite your face.
You could switch to someone else and get lousey service.0 -
I have 6 months to go before my 18 month contract runs out and I am counting the days!! I am even tempted to say 'Sod it' and pay the £70 cancellation fee just to get rid of them.0

seems that talk talk keeping changing their packages
a couple of months ago i signed up to their talk internation plan - which they then renamed talk internation evening and weekend which they have now renamed talk global evening and weekend - and they sneakily increased the price with the rename - however they cant put up you price plan within the minimum contract period0 -
Just thought I would add my thrupence worth I have been with TT since FEB 08 on a talk3 inernational free anytime calls (landline but not premium numbers & free broadband + more) I took some convincing @ the cost to me but it has proved to be true less than £22.00 per month inc VAT, all in all I am saving over £40.00 a month :rotfl: compared to BT and that was before they put UP their prices APRIL-ish ( contrary to what they say) That said I had a hickup where by my BB line kept dropping, by using their assist and go program came up with a code which when I phoned the far far away free help line it was decided to change a microfilter which I did, bingo fine again. The next thing I wondered if I could get a faster connection (if possible) well I decided to post on their FORUM told the story and pressed the Submit Post no sooner than I could say jack sh** no lies my BB connection started being iffy for about two minutes this was about midnight as well. I could not believe (and still cannot) I did a speed test and hey presto Alot faster connection and still is.It turns out they have support members on their forum most of the time and do help customers. I have no connection with talktalk in anyway shape or form apart from Telephone / BB 18 month contract with them, but thought praise when praise is due. I know it is still early days but what the heck.

Transferred to TalkTalk on Saturday. Service up and running almost immediately.Used existing netgear router. No problems with telephone and broadband has been good over weekend. Real issue has been with Demon helpdesk in Mumbai where they seem to have limited knowledge of regulatory environment and minimal access to account information:
- new ISP cannot cancel your service, only you can (TalkTalk not true we sent advice and they musy comply with it)
- you need a MAC code to transfer - and we will continue charging you until the MAC code is used on your new service. Didn't request one and strongly suspect that there are contractual implications in requesting a MAC code - we will see with their final bill.
All in all Demon is a shambles. All I can say is TalkTalk stuck to their word with the cutover date, followed up the next morning to make sure everything was OK and made the who process very easy. Daughter has also been with TalkTalk for over a month. Apart from allocating the wrong telephone number on the transfer (which she strongly suspects was BT's doing) no problems, service very good, no breakdowns - and helpdesk is UK based.0 -

I am now live with talk talk. My bradband date was 12th June and my landline 4th June, but seems i went live with both services on 4th June 08. No one at customer services knew why there was two live dates at different times. Joining has been ok, little problems, but managed to get the connection fee waved because customer service messed mum about regarding there previous 10.00 off your bill "refer a friend" scheme.
The good news is, its far, far cheaper than BT, which cant be badTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
Can't believe this outfit are recommended here. Nothing worked for me, most annoying thing was when the phone did work Caller Display didn't. For months was given the runaround about changing filters, plugging into master sockets etc. and now I discover it's because Talktalks equipment works differently from BTs so unless you have the right kind of phone caller display will never work! Oh, and they've no idea what type of phones are the right type. Tried to get an answer on their forum, admittedly I wasn't too restrained about it, but got jumped on pretty quick by all and sundry.
They also manipulate these so-called impartial comparison sites, one in particular with supermarket in the name, has just removed months worth of feedback from the broadband section which has had a marked impact on their close business partner Talktalks reputation. Glowing feature in their site as well from some Talktalk punter, hardly impartial. Their Care in the Community officer is also directing people to vote in some pc magazine review so they can get an honour of some sort - don't touch with a bargepole.0 -
Been with TT since 3rd April this year
CANNOT fault them in any respect.
Got transferred and went "live" on exact date given,no problem connecting up.
Download speed averages 5 megs.
Free phone calls evenings and weekends.
Even calls to Spain and 35 other counties are FREE.
Best move I ever made away from BT and Fast4.
Saving at least £20 a month.
Keep up the good work TT0 -
my 2 cents the previous tenants of the flat where i live are with talktalk. When they moved out talktalk disconnected the line (this was not requested by the previous tenants. They then refused to connect me! even though i was willing to sign up with them... i now have tyo pay £120 to bt to get the line reconnected!
My thinking is, if they are that blase about the affects of their actions, and that unbothered about getting new custom, how rubbish are they goint to be to an existing customers.0 -
Have the broadband and alleged international package.Have also got wireless Sky on another phoneline.Sky is reliable and fast and connected via a wirless router. Got a plug in with TalkTalk-bought a wireless router for the TalkTalk line but they refused to give me the info to set it up-they claimed I 'wasn't entitled to the service'. The system frequently times out/crashes/freezes/OE doesn't work etc so have to switch to Sky. It's slow and unreliable. I've had two letters claiming that I overexceeded my downloads !!!!!This was totally impossible on the speeds that I get. If it works it's cheap and stick with it but my service is rapidly becoming a pain0
