Thanks BillTrac, exactly the same story as in my case.0

tried to get through to the normal bt operator - 100 but instead got through to the talk talk customer services
they were absoulutely useless maintaining that the fact that i got through to them rather than to the bt operator meant tht their was a fault with bt
i had previously spoken to bt customer services and they said that as the service was provided by tt they would have the correct number to get through to the bt operator
so does anyone know the correct number to get through to the BT OPerator which is normally 100 on a bt line but obv noit on a TT line0 -
Thanks all for your replies.
Only just managed to find the thread again. Thought my post had disappeared!
For the record, I've cancelled my TT app. There were loads of little things going wrong, it just didn't 'feel right'. Didn't want to take the risk of being without BB for a while if I had to switch back to BT. Reliability is important to me. Think I'll wait until reliability improves.
PlusNet sounds interesting though Ken. I'll take a look. I take it that's BT Line rental plus £10 for BB?
Thanks0 -
when your put on hold most companies play music some which is okay other which are really annoying
talktalk answer to this is apparentl to have britain favorite poet read some of his poems whilst you way
how completely diredrivel to listen too - you have to hangup becuase it is the same poem time after time0 -
I have been with talk talk for over 2 years now. Signed up to the free broadband deal and have only had 1 problem with my landline not working for 2 weeks but they transfered all my calls to my mobile for free so that did not bother me and gave me £20 compo too.
To be honest I will continue to stay with them since my monthly bill for landline, calls allday, evening and weekends with broadband only about £20 per month.
No other can compair. Can they?0 -

YES sorry you right Buffalo tho now 2GB. Good service for me, more than a mile from exchange and getting 6mb but essentially locked in with having to pay to get back to BT, unless you move to BT perhaps.0 -
Signed-up on line with Talk Talk 30 July 08
Received papers and modem etc a week later with a SPECIFIED Go Live date of 18 August.
Tried on 18 Aug but not set up.
19 Aug Tried again next day told by Technical Help Desk “try again tomorrow . You will be able to get online.” (not maybe or any qualification on this but a definite answer)
20 Aug Tried again. This time spoke to Customer Services who advised that there was an equipment problem at the exchange and that BT will have to fix it. Told that it would take 4 working days to fix. This would be Weds 27 Aug (due to bank holiday etc)
27 Aug spoke to Customer Services who passed me to the Broadban section who passed me back. Very uncommunicative person said “as we told you” but they said 4 days niow they say “when BT fix it” and “after BT fix it then we will place the order again” how long “10 to 14 days after this”
In summary, Talk Talk change the story each time, and don’t qualify anything they say but make definite sounding pronouncements.0
