New Talktalk poll; feedback needed, good and bad

This is my first post on this site so hello everyone.
I decided to join because I am worried about TT broadband as recommended by MSE.
I have been a TT calls customer for more than 5 years: no problems there.
A few days ago I was cold-called by a TT salesman and offered the Talk2International £16.39 deal which I decided to trial as there seemed to be plenty of opt out options.
Also the salesman gave me his full name and phone number, which clinched it - how naive was that!!! (no reply on that number ever).
Then I had the MartinsMoneyTips email pointing out it would be cheaper to make the switch through Uswitch, saving £21.
Long story, I tried to cancel the order through TT and reactivate it through Uswitch, got very frustrated and upset, many hours and button-pressing options later I wound up on the TT customers forum as recommended above by gilfachboy, and received excellent attention (and anger management therapy!!)
To my amazement I then had a call yesterday from the original salesman who offered to credit my TT account with the £21 (though I can't verify this has been done). I had already suggested this option to several other TT customer-service people but it seemed only salesman number one had the authority to offer it.
So problem solved so far, but reading others' problems about broadband dropping etc. I am currently with madasafish and have been largely satisfied except with the price - I stand to save £23 a month by switching to TT.
No such thing as a free lunch? I suspect not...watch this space.0 -
I have had Talk Talk for a few years now and I'm in the process of leaving after experiencing an intermittent internet connection. I was given the number of their second level of customer service line to call a few nights back and was on hold for over 2 hours without even getting near a human being! When I called again yesterday, the line was so crackly, I couldn't even hear what the customer services guy was saying.
Talk Talk is great when it works, but when you need customer service, it's non-existent.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
It may no longer be relevant to Bathgatebuyer, but anyone else still stuck in the customer service nightmare with TT do try their online forum.
It's a wholly different experience!

Applied and got Broadband quickly, then Talk Talk started acting like simpletons. They cancelled my Caller ID, then I was told I cannot get Caller ID with Broadband. Complained, kept on getting told we will sort it out, it will take 3 - 5 working days. Kept on complaining, then I get told they cannot supply Caller ID as Talk Talk do not provide my phone line - yes, they do. Okay, then they admit they do supply my phone line. Still complaining trying to get Caller ID. Get informed by email, please call this number to sort out the problem. Called the number - it's the wrong number! Complain about that as well. Get another email but TalkTalk address response to a Mrs Balfour ( a staff member in their Customer Services dept). The people in TalkTalk customer service are frighteningly STUPID! Broadband works but wish I had not swapped over. Also asked to change Direct Debits to new bank, told all sorted. Guess what, they did not change it.0

Uh-oh...
Is there anyone out there who is wholly satisfied with TT, or has ever had a good experience with their customer services?
Come to that is there anyone out there who has ever had a wholly satisfactory experience of any telephone/broadband customer service call centre?0 -
BT come a close second, Sept., I called them out for a dodgy line, engineer came, worried me to death about I would have to pay if they couldn't find a fault.
Stayed here a good hour, got thru three cups of tea....turned out half the street was down, something he probably knew before he set out.
He was just wasting time til the for

Does anyone know where it states that the last day for this offer is on the 31st? I couldn't find anything definitive. Also, as far as I can see, using uswitch makes no difference (then again I'm not fully clued up on uswitch). The price is at £16.39 on the Talk Talk site, through quidco you can claim some cash back (up to £48). Just asking as it may give me some more time to think this over.
