Told Mrs B that wine and tylenol wouldn't mix but she didn't listen and so inadvertently turned this evening from being one that would take a few days to recover into one of virtue. We had friends over for dinner who came armed with an 8 pack of Stella, some Old Bob, wine and a cheesecake to augment the nachos, fajitas and wine that we had here. Brilliant to see them again after all this time but a little voice in my head was saying "think of the run", so I was pacing myself but knew that inevitably caution would get thrown to the wind. But the wind never blew cos Mrs B retired to bed straight after the starters and that kinda ended things. Got away with having 2.5 cans of stella and a handful of nachos. Have the willpower issue now of being in sole custody of another 5 cans, plus all the wine, plus a cheesecake but am hoping that temptation will keep its ugly head away. I can guarantee in times past this would have been a green light for a complete gluttony fest.

PS. Thanks for the quality links (and the fat biker one, much as I admire his tenacity, determination and endeavour, it would not stop me hurling abuse at him if he wobbled his bloody bike anywhere near me when I'm driving. Bikes are for kids, as are Blackberry phones. Being seen in public with either as an adult is a sure sign that fundamentally, things have gone badly wrong.

Am off now to search out mummydongals mcmuffins. That whole sentence sounds wrong.

Will power seems pretty much in tact by the sound of it. Thought is was only me that thought mummydongal stuff sounded decidedly dodgey:rotfl:

  • WooHoo! Managed to sneak a crafty 3k in after all and was 40 seconds quicker than my previous best. But it was hard work: daylight brings intransigent dog walkers who think they own the same pavements I think I own, I get in nice and tight against the garden walls so they can have the rest of the pavement and the grass verge and half of them still don't budge, it gets a bit ugly sometimes - managed to only mouth "stupid f****** ******" to one of them today and will claim I was only singing along to my dubstep if it goes to court. Anyway, I think I have the moral high ground, at least I'm not walking along with a bag of sh*t in one hand and a animal chained round the neck in the other. Daylight also makes me and the local community look at my running apparel - strangely adidas don't seem to consider the Bloater market and so my running gear consists of a marquee which Ben Sherman claim is a 5x t-shirt, some hideous long shorts and the wife's black socks. I do look like I'm auditioning for Forrest Gump 2. Still, end result is back down to 22-13 and a BMI of 39.08. It was over 40 when I started this diary. And that makes it all worthwhile.
  • Well done Mr B on the run.....try not to weigh yourself too often as the fluctuations during the day will drive you mad (from 1 who has personal experience from it)
I know it is sooo tempting but I did eventually manage to keep it to once a week at same time and then you can see the results. As you are a lover of spreadsheets how about plotting your weight as a graph and then you can see it go down - a lovely sight!
That and 1 for your debts and it will be "downhill" all the way - sorry for the bad joke but it is early on Sun morning!

Nice to see that you are keeping up the running. It can't be helped if you don't always make it out. chev

You did it! Well done you!!!

The fall in your BMI is the real story rather than your weight - I know you want to weigh regularly, so let it go .... that really is good.

Earlier poster about doing the photos and the descriptions for the records has a really good point - especially if you want to list lots in one weekend, it takes much more time than you think it would.

And stay safe - if the people outside are shouty, thats a no!

I know what you mean about bags of dog poo. We had a dog and I was so paranoid about walking round with a bag of it (yes, I meant to say it!) I paid about £20 for a posh lead which had a container at the top that not only stored the empty bags but had a hidey hole for the full ones. :)
Keep up the good work - we're all behind you.

I have a mental picture now............ and at least its not Mrs B shorts;)

Great with the weight BMI thing - keep going

The whole dog poo thing - I am a responsible dog owner - thats why I dont have one - I agree whole heartedly that it ( poop) should be picked up and disposed of but I am not going to walk round with it as if it was a fashion accessory - sorry suehippo the addition to a the lead doesnt do it for me either:rotfl: We live in the sticks and it would appear that dog owners here dont have the same sense of responsiblity:mad:

We also dont have a dog because I would have to have a proper dog not one that can be put in a hand bag or as someone once said scooped out and made into slippers:D

Crikey you must be tall! Well done under 40, that is a big hurdle, I have BMI mini goals, stone and half stone mini goals and Kg goals, so sometimes I have a goal every lb! Psychologically that does help. Not forgetting the 10 lbs loses, the stone loses, every goal passed keeps you motivated! Then ofcourse you have running goals, I have getting out of bed goals!!
