Morning Mr B
Thought I'd just pop in to say hello
Have been avidly reading your diary since day 1 and subscribed. You've become part of my morning routine now along with my other OCD-ish behaviour of checking my bank balance etc!
The squirrel household have been on the Moneysaving trail for a while now but we do fall off the wagon every so often but your diary has inspired me (yet) again!
Looking forward to tagging along with you on this journey and wish you all the best.0 -
Morning Mr B
Hope you and the family are keeping well.
I look forward to reading what antics you have been up to.
Keep up the good work and enjoy your weekend :beer:0 -
So glad you got out for your run this morning - 3k, 5k, its all going in the right direction now! One thing that occurred to me is that because you're doing exercise at the same time as changing your diet, you're gaining in muscle - so your weight loss won't be quite as dramatic as someone that just diets. Still, I'm glad you're taking the weigh ins a little less seriously - you're doing brilliantly.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

A 3k run sounds pretty impressive for a Saturday morning Mr B
Am now craving M*Coys crisps as a side dish to my egg M*Muffin...Hope you have a lovely (cheap) weekend x

Like all top athletes, I listen intensely to my brain and body - yesterday they both demanded red wine and McCoys crisps (2 for 1 at the Co-Op so technically moneysaving), and this morning they both refused to even consider a 5k run. They did let me do my usual 3k tho and be back in time to give the boy his morning bottle - so it's all good. Just nudged up to 23-0 but am not complaining and am starting to not take the daily weigh-ins too seriously. Might try and bag up the remaining CDs for magpie today and really have to get my head around ebaying all the vinyl - altho part of me is thinking to wait til a bit nearer Christmas - our projections for this month are looking OK, so it might be worth keeping the discs in my pocket so to speak.
Good idea about the waiting 'til nearer Chistmas thing for Eb*y. with your writing style too you should do quite well - people will buy because you made them smile/chuckle/laugh out loudBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Mr B - That takeaway urge - have you seen The Takeaway Secret book? It is about how to replicate McDs and so on at home. There is a big thread over on Old Style about it. Mummydongals bacon and egg mcmuffins are very popular in our house - and a lot cheaper.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0

Just a bit of inspiration for you Mr.B

When I posted about Eb*y I was thinking something along these lines - knew I had it somewhere. Its how you sell your item in the end - take a look: http://www.weddingdressguy.com/original_ebay_ad/ebaylisting.html

Told Mrs B that wine and tylenol wouldn't mix but she didn't listen and so inadvertently turned this evening from being one that would take a few days to recover into one of virtue. We had friends over for dinner who came armed with an 8 pack of Stella, some Old Bob, wine and a cheesecake to augment the nachos, fajitas and wine that we had here. Brilliant to see them again after all this time but a little voice in my head was saying "think of the run", so I was pacing myself but knew that inevitably caution would get thrown to the wind. But the wind never blew cos Mrs B retired to bed straight after the starters and that kinda ended things. Got away with having 2.5 cans of stella and a handful of nachos. Have the willpower issue now of being in sole custody of another 5 cans, plus all the wine, plus a cheesecake but am hoping that temptation will keep its ugly head away. I can guarantee in times past this would have been a green light for a complete gluttony fest.
PS. Thanks for the quality links (and the fat biker one, much as I admire his tenacity, determination and endeavour, it would not stop me hurling abuse at him if he wobbled his bloody bike anywhere near me when I'm driving. Bikes are for kids, as are Blackberry phones. Being seen in public with either as an adult is a sure sign that fundamentally, things have gone badly wrong.
Am off now to search out mummydongals mcmuffins. That whole sentence sounds wrong.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)
