Well done to everyone who completed the previous challenges :j, and a warm welcome to all newcomers! (if I forget to put you on the first page list - nag at me until I do :rotfl:, oh and you don't have to let anyone know your starting weight unless you really want to!)

Here goes for another half stone challenge! Don't think of how much you'd like/need to lose, just focus on losing those 7lbs for September! See, it doesn't seem so bad, does it :D

This is a useful site for tracking your weight, food etc

http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/account/index.php or some people like http://www.myfitnesspal.com/

You set up your own target by inputting weight, height, how active your lifestyle is, and any medical conditions. Then each day you keep a food diary by inputting what you eat, and also an activity log. The site works out your calories for input (food) and output (activity). The idea is that you keep the input between 500 and 1000 cals below the output, but without dropping below the minimum food cals set by the site for your lifestyle etc. And best of all the calorie count site is free!

If you're interested sign up here and lets help each other :T

Remember - It's 2011 and we will soon be in 7th Heaven :D

Count me in, will post start weight in September. Do we officially start on the 1st or the Monday before?
Smashed through my weightloss target. Looking at 120lbs+ loss. BMI over 40 down to 20.5. Training hard to get body fat under 20%, not far to go now :j

Will start on the 1st then, gives me a chance to get the start weight down a bit on my new scales lol. I went and weighed in town today. The wii does weigh me at about half a stone difference :( But every cloud and all that, the weighing machine also measured my height and I'm an inch taller than I thought I was :D

  • Ohhh, can I join please?

I am setting myself up for a big month!!! Sept always feels like the start of a new year to me (prob hankering back to my school days) so Sept is all about me a) Stopping smoking b) Losing weight c) Establishing a better routine now kids are back to school d) Serious saving for Christmas!

I have been building up to packing in the smokes for a while now but I am terrified of putting weight on (already carrying a bit more than I should be) so I have decided that I will throw my whole hand in and (attempt) to lose weight and stop smoking!

I don't do any specific diet, I can't really afford to join is one of the main reason but I generally don't like 'following a diet'. I intend to just try and eat sensibly and cut down my portion size (I eat huge man sized portions). I already do a fair bit of exercise (circuit training or running 4 times a week) but I guess I could up the anti a bit as I have become far too comfortable doing these sessions. I have a fairly active young family so we are often out and about of a weekend but just need to keep an eye on what we are eating whilst out (stay away from the Pizza Hut)!!!

I currently weigh 157lb so losing 7lb would take me down into a new stone bracket (yay!). I have one set of fairly reliable scales and I weigh myself once a week usually on sunday evening. How/when does everyone else weigh?

Sorry for the ramble, thanks for having me.

    xKBx
    Just little old me!

Of course you can join (will add you to the opening post in a minute!), I am also not following a "diet" as such, I use calorie count (in the opening post) and eat what I want, just less of it!

Oh and good luck with stopping smoking

  • Hi, can I join too please?
I was reading the August thread with interest but I didn't want to join in the last week.
kahunababy I know what you mean about the September thing. I go back to uni in Sepetember and it feels like a fresh start, so I would like to lose a bit of weight for that. And I weigh myself weekly too, on Sundays, but i do it in the morning after I've been to the toilet but before I've eaten, as that gives the lowest reading...is that cheating lol?
I'm not following a diet as such either I've just cut out all junk food and started exercising more. I weighed myself earlier this week though (yesterday), as I could feel my work trousers were looser, and I'd lost 1.5 pounds since Sunday so I think I'm off to a good start.
    Good luck everyone :)

People weigh in when the can so pick a time that suits you (and no that is NOT cheating :rotfl:, I suspect that most of us do the same thing :D)
