I wonder if part of your dread was a sort of transferred thing from knowing you hadn't told MrsB about this thread? You're obviously very close as a couple, and that kind of omission can grow, even if its from the best intentions... I'm sure you're on the right track, MrB, both with telling MrsB and, incidentally, with planning a 4k run, not jumping from 3k to 5k ... hope its gone well, and you haven't been blown over!

  • Afternoon - was up at 4.30 ready to roll on my 4k'r but then DD declared she had crippling pains around her appendix. Cue lots of NHS Direct searching and then thankfully nature took its course and she tooted her way back to normality. Musta been the chicken fajitas from the night before. Hence run got postponed although I think I might have got blown off course.
And I think (unless Mrs B has spent anything at work) that its a second consecutive NSD! Might have made it three but the tooth fairy has to visit after midnight cos DD's front upper came out today.
  • Unlucky this morning, but at least there is nothing seriously wrong with the wee 'un. I am really pleased that the missus is being supportive of you online antics, mine was not quite so positive about mine when I told her. You have made a flying start to your "journey" and I wish you well in sustaining the momentum. Positivity will prevail!

Awww .... I'm glad your little one's okay, thats the main thing. And breaking a run of NSDs for the tooth fairy is also forgiveable! Hope you get your run tomorrow.

  • Yup, can confirm that it was the 2nd NSD day for the Bloaters. Packed lunches abound and there is a more positive energy around the place. Altho a lot of that might be due to the fact I have shedloads of booze in the fridge thanks to the dinner party that never was, so will be able to enjoy a drink or twenty this week without worrying about the spend. Of course I will do it in moderation cos I don't want to ruin the running. Hope the wind's not blown anything important of yours away - we had a road full of wheelie bins and recycle boxes but we usually get that anyway cos the binmen are cackhanded round here.
  • Hmm, I think complacency might have just kicked in, and so hopefully this will kick complacency back in the nuts again. Riding the wave of DD being well, 2nd NSD day in a row, and the fact that both myself and Mrs B had much better days at work I completely took my eye off the ball. Once kids were safely snoring in their beds I downed a bottle of red and have just done some major snacking - 2 pitta breads with cheese and tomato, and my greatest weakness - a cheese and marmite sandwich. No idea what these little calorie bombs are gonna do cos I'm too scared to go on the Wii to find out but really really must get out for the 4k run tomorrow and more importantly, realise that little lapses like this could turn into daily occurences which could put me right back at the start again.

No, am going to be strong and will weigh myself right now to show to myself and the world what damage I've done..

yup - back up to 23-3. that's a lot of hard work undone for the sake of a snack and a drink. Here's hoping I don't make that mistake again.
