  • Phew! Massive weight off my shoulders this afternoon as I got an assurance from the big boss that no matter what the outcome of a (likely to fail) project it won't have any impact on me, which is only fair cos I have put in years of success at my place, but a surprise because they have been pretty ruthless and this would have been a chance to off someone at the top end of the scale and replace me with a couple of cheap newbies. So am feeling a lot more secure and valued at work which can only help. Celebrated by having 3rd NSD in a row! (we're not counting the quid from the tooth fairy as technically the money has stayed in the house, and in the family). Further celebrated by throwing out the rest of the cheesecake instead of leaving it to be picked at by yours truly. And luckily enough Audi were kind enough to send me a little car !!!!!! to drool over, showing their lovely new Q3. In the pre-lightbulb days this would have been the source of much discussion between me and Mrs B about our next car choice, now it's followed the cheesecake straight into the bin.

Book !!!!!! here - the last few book people catalogues have gone straight into the recycling which is a real advance for me. And the Lakeland Catalogue remains unopened too!

Mr B can you find a more attractive route for that magic 4k? I live on a hill and whichever way I go there is a painful slope to be tackled which put me off. I never did master running up the worst bit. DH insists on me driving him somewhere so he can run/bike on the flat bits all the way home which is fair enough.

I knew I should have gone to bed .................Lakeland Plastics errrm yes I know what you mean and well done Hex for not opening it. For me its stationary and storage boxes - any size or shape. OMG I really am odd.

Well done Mr B on the NSDs and coming clean with Mrs B. I wont be doing that. My OH remains in the dark, well I think he does.

Nope, lots of people pleaded guilty to that one on the Flylady thread over in Oldstyle. Mind you some of them match pegs - madness :p

  • Maybe took the celebrations a tad too far tonight again. Managed to polish off the remaining Stella in an idyllic evening that comprised the Soccer Spacial on SSN and flicking between threads on MSE. Am very happy to be posting on this board - there are some angry souls on the other boards.
Resisted the Cheese & Marmite sandwich but indeed plumped for Tuna, Low Fat Mayo and Tabasco. Perfect!

Indeed there are - stay here with the nice folk! ;)

Tuna, mayo and tabasco - now there's a combination I had never considered!
  • Firstly, Mr B, congratulations on your massive effort so far. You're an inspiration to many! :T

Just a suggestion from me - but maybe you could throw out the Marmite? Maybe even the cheese if the rest of the family wouldn't strongly object?

I find I'm very suggestible. I see someone drinking a nice cool beer on TV and I want one. The person across from me in work opens a pack of crips I think 'that's a great idea'. So at home I don't keep alcohol in the fridge so the temptation to have a 'nice cool one' passes and I don't buy chocolate, sweets or fizzy drink at all during my weekly shop (difficult for you as you have kids, I know!) and I don't go into any shops at all between the weekly shop. The only slightly naughty thing I do is keep little tubs of jelly in the fridge as I heard these are probably the best low calorie deserts you can have. So if I've had a particularly tasteless and unrewarding dinner I tuck into a little tub of jelly! :)

What time do you go to bed to get up at 4.30am?! I used to walk everywhere, play football and ocasioanally other activity but I've developed a problem with my knees which means I can only walk short distances at best. I keep trying to get up early enough to do press ups in the morning (since there's no pressure on my knees) but I never get to sleep early enough so feel too tired to do it in the morning. I lack the discipline to get to bed early as I feel that's my day coming to a close and I spent the vast majority of it working and commuting!
